Media asked if Lamar was worth his contract.... Same energy is all I'm asking for Herbert, Joe, Tua, Watson, Dak, Trevor,
@StudentOfLife36513 күн бұрын
Well to be fair, and as a Ravens fan, Joe balled out this year. I can't lie he went crazy so he's earned and earning his contract. If he was in any other division he would be the division winner or at the minimum a wildcard team.
@segawalker330213 күн бұрын
@@StudentOfLife365 Agreed he balled out no question about that but w that contract you need to at least make the playoffs. Even if you ended up like the Steelers, losing in the wild card. At least get to the dance is all I'm saying. Last year, the AFC North had 3 teams representing in the playoffs.

Been saying this, Lamars playoff narrative is on Greg Roman
@mobrown119813 күн бұрын
I came to say this very thing.. Ravens fans have understood this, and have been saying it since, well.. 2019. FTR, national media, and fans never mention this, don’t even consider it. Also, mainstream media, and fans talk about Lamar’s first playoff loss against the Chargers, when Lamar was the youngest ever to start a playoff game, playing in a makeshift offense, with ZERO weapons around him back in 2018. Also, in the 2019 Divisional game, Lamar had over 500 yards total offense, and the two interceptions bounced off of receivers hands… in that game the Ravens receivers had 7-9 drops, depending on which source is referenced. I’ve rewatched that game and counted 8 drops easily. Half of which would’ve been either 1st downs or chunk plays. Ravens fans definitely knew that Roman’s offense was limited. It was also because of that offense, that fans outside of Baltimore believed that the Steelers had Lamar’s number. While I will credit the Steelers with creating turnovers in the first game this season, the first game last season, Monkens first game against Pittsburgh, the Ravens receivers sold and had a number of drops including two that should’ve been touchdowns. Fun fact~ Lamar is 3-1 in wildcard games, and has a QB rating over 100… that includes the first game in 2018 with the makeshift offense under Marty Morningwhig… Narratives, just like statistics can be manipulated, cherry picked without context to make a point. My last point, something I’ve said long before Lamar Jackson was the Ravens quarterback… going back to the January Joe (Flacco) narrative… Fans that know, know that Flacco was terrible in the playoffs, had a semi decent playoff in 2011, before his historic run in 2012. The Ravens won despite Flacco’s lackluster play~ those great defenses/ great running game/ complimentary football ~ carried the Ravens and Joe Flacco early in his playoff career. Evidence is that Flacco won exactly ONE more playoff game after 2012… but the narrative was that Flacco raised his game in January and was credited with being a great playoff quarterback…in the playoffs ~ 1) Quarterbacks gets too much credit for the wins 2) All the blame for the losses. Fans don’t have to believe me about Flacco. They can go back and look at the individual game stats from 2008-2011.. even in the 2011 season, he had help getting wins (Jacoby Jones fumble when he was with the Texans, and a late interception by Ed Reed… as the Ravens were struggling to stave off TJ Yates and an undermanned Texans team… Narratives and Statistics are always presented without context, just to SELL a story.

That Texans defense has been overshadowed by the horrible offense all year. I've been saying all season that the Texans have a top 3 defense. Those boys are dangerous. Their offense doesn't need to be great to win games. If they can keep the offensive momentum up like in this game, I can see the winning the super bowl. But that's the thing, stroud hasn't been consistent all year. I still have hope though, Stroud has a bright future.

Baltimore did what I expected vs the Steelers. All they really needed since getting Jackson was a bell cow running back and Derrick Henry is most assuredly that. The Houston Texans never look like the same team two games in a row. They got killed at home vs Baltimore and probably won't go past the next round. But Demeco Ryans and CJ Stroud have been really transcendent choices for them. They should rule their division for years.

Well he can't hand it off to the RB with the read option and that's where most of his runs came from. The defense kept crashing down on Henry which causes Lamar to keep it. He just have to do better sliding or getting down instead of making contact.

Dude what?! It was schemed that way. Steelers expected Henry to run and tightened the box accordingly leaving space on the outside for Lamar to run. After being burned for a few yards they start to spread slightly to account for Lamar running on the outside. Which in turn opens up the middle for Henry now. It’s basic football IQ. Lamar has always been and will always be a great leader and team player lol do better
