As of recently I agree they have been disrespected. But their defiantly not one of the most underrated teams of all time. I wanna say their best teams where I’m the mid 70’s when they left the ABA and transitioned to the NBA, some of the Mutombo years, and of course a few of the Melo years. But they were definitely respected in the 70’s, not really in the Mutombo years but they got love for being an 8 seed and beating a #1 seed (Seattle.) My point is they couldn’t really be underrated because they literally never won anything. Maybe a conference championship I’m not sure, but nothing big.

God I remember my first nuggets game back in ‘06. My dad took me and we took the lights I’m down to Pepsi center. When we got on the train my dad realized that he had left the tickets to the game in the car lol. Prior to this when buying the lightrail ticket a lady next to us was in a panic and kept apologizing repeatedly when asking my dad for cash for her ticket. My dad helped her and she made sure that the lightrail would be waiting for us as we sprinted to the car to get the tickets. Flash forward to the 3rd quarter of the game and the lady somehow found us in the crowd and gave us locker room passes. Turns out she was one of the assistant coaches wife. I got to meet bird man, who didn’t even see me and the guy next to me goes “hey you forgot the little man down here” and bird man apologized and signed my ball. Got to meet melo too! Anyways this team has been nothing but pain and poor decisions for majority of its history and seeing it now be a threat within in the league nearly brings me to tears. The fact we swept the Lakers, Denver’s big bully since the 80’s and what felt like a response to the outcome of the bubble is the crème de la creme God I hope they bring it home we’ve been waiting more than long enough.
