Yeah because Tom Izzo totally isn't a Top 5 College Coach... Penny isn't there yet, too early to tell if he is even gonna be a coach who can develop solid NBA players. Meanwhile, Tom Izzo has produced guys like Jason Richardson, Zach Randolph,Draymond, Gary Harris, mo Peterson, jarren Jackson Jr. Penny obviously has a better feel for how the NBA game works, but he is so naturally gifted that it is hard to get others to do the things he did. So maybe Emoni is one of the guys who will flourish because he himself also is naturally gifted and can develop a skill set, but let's also not forget in his four years Penny has produced 2 NBA players, neither of which are too successful currently... despite having two #1 nationally ranked recruiting classes during his tenure

@@GregoryKeller I just think covid kinda messed things up. And plus his dad having their own school wasn't a great idea and they also had some problems. If he went to a prep school he shoulda went to a bigger already established one. But I do agree if he plays anywhere for development, college is better. He could go g league next season but that wouldn't be the right move to me. Honestly, he's topped out at 6'8 so he ain't as skinny as durant who was probably the same weight but at 7'0. I think he's got a ways to go but he's def gonna be great

Soon, may be too young the 1st year with so little experience. But Penny has been my fav player my whole life, so no doubt his greatness will shine thru very very soon. He is the perfect college coach, but can’t lie if I said I would love to see him coach the Magic before his coaching career ends. Memphis is the new Kentucky, who was the new Wolverines, every generation has that program that gets all the 1 and done studs and it’s looking like it will now be Penny and his Memphis program.

As a freshman, Emoni Bates led his high school team in Ypsilanti, MI, just outside of Detroit, to the Michigan Championship....this an extremely rare accomplishment because at age 15, playing against kids as old as 17yrs old is a world of difference. Jalen Duren's steady influence, Penny Hardaway’s leadership, and Emoni Bates’ staggering prowess steered Memphis through the obstacles the team encountered along the way. During Emoni's time at Memphis, I’m optimistic that he will average 20 points per game. However, my plans have begun to get put in place for Memphis.
