That’s not true at all. The game is different when you get in the league no Nba player is worried about a Highschool player. Emoni is a good Highschool player, Luka is way better and smarter all around. Everyone has different roles in the league and the stuff these players do in high school does not transfer over to the NBA. That’s like telling Steph curry to go watch Trae young when he was in Highschool if you get my point.

@@KyleBrown3_ your point about Luka being so much better than Emoni is correct. Luka played professionally against grown ass men since he was 16. But, I do think it’s beneficial for stars to study the trend of the game, where it’s heading to. There are superstars/stars that adapted to the trend, and it benefited them, like Lebron, Blake Griffin, Brook Lopez and Demarcus Cousins. I guess you can say Luka doesn’t have to study Emoni, but there’s nothing wrong in studying more, whether it’s about the trend of the league or the upcoming players.

@@KyleBrown3_ right now, but if you want it to be a no question thing like the top 3 of all time did, then you have to make sure you know their patterns. If you already understand how a player moves and thinks how can they score on you, recognize their dribble patterns and they can only shoot over you.

Honestly the the title makes it look dumb, but Gilbert is not wrong. Older players during the late 80’s and 90’s like bird and magic weren’t aware that faster and more athletic players were going to increase the speed of offense and that before long, centers stopped being the focal point of offense for a team-> a change from wilt, Kareem, Moses Malone, James worthy, and the various Celtics bigs. The new focal point of an offense was the SG/SF due to the success made by MJ, Drexler, Reggie Miller, Joe dumars, pippen, and others. Only teams with faster, stronger, and/or versatile bigs(Shaq, Malone, Ewing, Hakeem, Robinson, Barkley, Duncan, KG specifically) survived. Other teams weren’t ready which is why the 90’s were basically ran by the bulls. The shift happened again during the late 2000’s. You went from traditional shooting guards who let others create shots for them to high volume/usage scoring guards who create shots for themselves. AI, Kobe, Wade, Rip Hamilton, TMAC, Vince Carter, Ray Allen, Baron Davis, and Agent Zero himself all created shots for themselves and scored in high volume with the ball in their hands as opposed to operating off ball like their predecessors at the position. The problem with this change however was that very few shooting guards had the skills as a ball handler and playmaker to do this so it was easier to just get a Point guard that wasn’t entirely pass first but had a nose for scoring as well which led to the late 2000’s/early 2010’s wave of point guards being the best players on their respective teams: CP3, Nash, and Deron Williams were the stars; in the draft Westbrook, Kyrie, Wall, Rose, Kemba, and Dame were drafted top 10 during this time signifying the change in focal point once again. Pass first PG or guards who weren’t great scorers vanished, and before long Rondo was the only purely pass first PG left. Going forward, if ya didn’t have a good scoring PG you were screwed. From that sprang the shooters era that was brought about by Steph Curry where every player needed to be able to shoot the 3. Some Top tier guards always had the ability and found it easy to implement the 3 into their game more(Dame, Kyrie, Lowry, Mike Conley, CP3). Others didn’t in the players drafted between 2013-2017 all had some form of advanced shooting ability regardless of position. This shift with 3pt shooting being the focus happened at the same time of ‘position less basketball era’ where people at all positions and heights needed the ability to score and defend. This is 100 percent due to Lebron and KD being agile and talented scorers. Now if you were tall you needed to be able to move faster and be more agile in the court so as not to limit the speed and movement of the play. Shooting is a requirement, but if you weren’t a consistent shooter you needed to be a freak athlete(Giannis, Simmons). And sooner rather than later, it will change again, so to stay dominant for longer like Lebron has, the young guys need to watch the changes and adapt.

Luka knows his weaknesses and works on it every year. You see it each year, with how he continues to evolve. It seems he wanted to work on his mid range, he got that. Next he wanted to improve on his 3s, he definitely has that now. So I dont think Luka is lax in terms of evolving. Once he fixes his technical skills you will see him pushing his physicality.

Luka is steps above everyone in IQ that is what makes him so special and sorry Emoni Bates is not even close to what Luka does,Americans in their dreams playing againts other kids where Luka played againt grown man since 16 in a league where "stars" are put in their place and Coach is the one who leads his team not like todays NBA.You cant stop Luka on offence other then trowing 3 players at him and hope his team will fail other then that he will always be 2 steps ahead of you... and this year even on defence he made masive improvements all he needs to work now is his ft.% going to at least 85% other then that he is alredy top 5 player if not even higher on the league.People dont even know how important he is for that Dallas team just look at % shooting from other guys when Luka is on the court or of it.I agree you should watch who is coming up but at the end of the day you will not change your game for that guy like what can Luka do to stop Zion? nothing he is not even playing at his position and when Zion is on Luka on D Luka would cook him.Why not mention Chet when we are at it? becouse he is white with better handless? This is just bs talk like Luka needs to watch it dude is 22 top 5 in the league and is 5 years of his prime he will be top 5 player when its all said and done keep hating becouse he is white :D
