The most frustrating thing with officiating is that we just want consistency and we rarely get it. Bengals vs Chiefs week 2 they call a very touchy PI on 4th and 16 that keeps the chiefs alive. I’ve seen former officials online say they have to call that in that situation but had it happened earlier in the game they wouldn’t call it. That is asinine if it’s a flag on the first snap of the game it should be on the last snap. If it’s not a flag then it isn’t a flag all game. It’s crazy. If you aren’t going to invest in making refs full time employees and make sure they are young enough and in shape and well trained then you need to make replay assist available for all calls on the field. If a ref throws a bad flag for PI because he saw it from a bad angle someone up stairs should be able to call down and say no it’s not PI or confirm it we have replay assist for some calls but not anything that matters
@scottweisel36405 күн бұрын
Penn State has a very good team, but they are missing a receiver like Jeremiah Smith, and their defenders are not as physical against the run as OSU. Franklin deserves the criticisms about getting out-coached, and his inability to make adjustments, but when they lost to OSU, Allar took a lot of coverage sacks due to the receivers’ inability to get open. PSU just doesn’t have a #1 receiver to stretch the field and draw two defenders. If they somehow get past ND and have to play OSU again, I look for an even worse loss.

The subjectivity in football during games that have major implications is just crazy. With instant replay and the ability to watch from so many angles, this should not be happening. ASU has a legitimate gripe and deserved to WIN this game. It was clear that the refs were doing EVERYTHING to make Texas win. . . and they did. I have not heard a single person post game who agrees with the NO TARGETING call in that game. Nearly every week this season, there was a controversial call that days later, we said to be the WRONG CALL. Unfortunately, it is too late AFTER the game and does nothing to help the situation. The refs should be held accountable when they miss these calls - especially when that game has play-off or conference titles on the line.

I agree it was ridiculous. I found the skycast version of the broadcast and it was amazing view and the OSU band playing and no announcers. It was perfect. To muck jabber jaw talking. Who cares about Reggie Kardashian.

I think the big 10 had ohio state lose to michigan to make sure 4 big ten teams made the playoffs.. Cause this ohio state team is 100 times better than michigan..The big 10 wanted more money lol

BS. That ASU defender was just running. Pulled up and hit the receiver with his side. That's just football. Please stop with your equalizing bias. It's old news and everyone sees it now.

Texas WR was way more vulnerable and it was a worse hit by the DB. Idk how you say that isn’t a flag. Simple as. Texas’ DB form tackles a receiver that lowers his head. If you call one you have to call the other, again simple as.

@Peyton_dahlquist Idk what play you're referring... If it is the interception play. He was just a football player without the ball that a defender ran into, with his side.

Love that pat took Oregon over Ohio I’m from Ohio and I’m a diehard OSU fan we should have won the first game we played against them but this time we had something to say and it was take this big fat L 😂

But he based that off the Michigan loss. I didn’t think you’d beat Oregon but I was wrong. I think you’ll win the natty but a month ago I would have laughed myself out of the building.

@ yeah I mean I get it we definitely didn’t look like we were natty contenders in that Michigan game

Everybody is missing the point. You put targeting in the game to protect players. In a play that was by the definition targeting in all senses and a player gets hurt on the field. No call for targeting. That is wild. Don't have the rule in the game if you aren't going to punish teams for doing it. If you can't call it in the biggest moments when the play gets the most heated how are you protecting the players on the field? Simple get rid of the rule if you don't have the stomach to enforce it. This isn't holding or illegal contact down the field. It's a rule specifically to protect player safety. Absolutely disgusting that they didn't call it even after review. I hate the rigging argument, but what can you say after a play like that. Literally no other sane explanation. Equivocating the arm bar to that is laughable.

It was not targeting. It didn’t match ANY of the criteria.
