Iowa had no chance. SC are too big, too strong, too much depth, and just too good. One player can not over come a team that plays 9 players all of which are equally good on offense and defense.

And more specifically, among those 9 SC players are: 8 5-stars and 8 McDonald's All-Americans, 1 4-star, all 9 ranked in the top 25 of their recruiting classes, and 5 taller than 6'. Compare that to Iowa who had Clark and: 3 4-stars, 3 ranked between #45-92, and only 2 taller than 6'.

@@typratt5395 - yeah, but I believe only 7 of those points were actually scored when Raven Johnson was guarding Clark. The mistake SC made was opening the game with lame defender Bree Hall defending Clark. Hall got scorched and was clearly not capable of guarding Clark. Johnson righted the ship.

I have nothing against Clark skills but if do the math she was averaging 1.36 points per shot . I'm beyond happy our team won!! Best team in the country was not to be beat by anyone. But I'm equally glad someone put an end to the clown show that was Iowa + refs. A great team doesn't need help from the refs to get to the finals. The better teams were officiated out of the competition. It worked until the refs met our loaded bench and understood they can't call enough phantom fouls against us cause we ain't running out of 5 stars! They could never beat this team so us Gamecock and fam are fine. But it don't make it right for Uconn and others

No one likes to see their team lose, but that’s part of loving a sport, and the media has to give flowers and credit where credit is due even if the savant Caitlin Clark comes up short. If there really isn't that much of a difference between the two, why make the women's ball smaller? you can't win with 3 players(Clark playing 40min in all games)......these games need more than plays...I think the loose end in IOWA team was Marshall..I m saying that because she was facing the basket 5 times with no pressure and she didn't take the shot ..she pass the ball.....yes the ball is heavy in games like this but that's where you show character......its easy when you are ahead 20 points but yesterday in a game like this and you finish with 6 points in 40 minutes.....IOWA had a fantastic year but it will take time to see them in F4 again after the seniors gone.....Carolina had more depth but after Cardoso leaving next year will not be the same

i watched the entire pre-game thru post-game_i was in tears_what a game what a way to shut up all the people who overhyped caitlin & made it racial abc/espn knew what they were doing_turning these games into race wars but even w/ the press & refs against 'em_sc stepped it up & shut em all up i was so hyped from that racial tension_fell asleep_woke up & still love em

2nd half Iowa just didnt pull the trigger, left SC wide open, didn't make the greenlit shots. They crumbled. Yes rebounds were the bread and butter, but Iowa just didn't perform that 2nd half.

Enjoy it while you can sports fans. The NCAA is crumbling. It's all about money and universities will prioritize the payday provided by football, then men's basketball. Will there be enough money to pay 18 year old girls a salary. Maybe a couple dozen schools tops. The kids deserve to be paid and treated like employees and they will be. It already happens in minor league baseball.

Ratings will go down 50 percent but they will still be much higher than they were before. The WNBA ratings however are about to through the stratosphere. Same thing with Women's Basketball in the Olympics. It Caitlyn Clark is involved in anything, the ratings will be huge.

Wrong. Players like Juju Watkins, Hannah Hidalgo, Madison Booker and upcoming freshmen have helped grow this game. Just because CC is leaving doesn’t mean that no one is gonna watch college basketball anymore
