Defensively, Bill Russell is the GOAT. 50 years later the title still belongs to him. But his impact offensively was very limited compared to MJ, Kareem, LeBron, Shaq, etc. While he wasn't much of a scoring threat, I still think Russell ranks in the top 5 based on defense alone.

14 teams and 10 spots when he played. Which means only the best players could actually make the team. If you take the Top 140 players and make 14 teams even the worst team would be a “super team”.
@aname56695 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t mean any of those players were any good bro.. they was ass but that’s fine.. I give it up for those from the past cuz they paved the way but you gotta know what evolution is.. the game was easy and ass then compared to now.. my 47 yr old dad could probably make it in that league right now
@cormel68955 жыл бұрын
a name Not at all, that means the 140 best players in the world were playing at the same time. The league is much different & rules changed, if teams went backwards they probably wouldn’t be accustomed, but people think whatever era they’re from is what basketball “should” look like. Pretty sure in 50 years when there’s 60 teams and a 4 point line kids will be telling us the same thing. Recency bias is crazy.
@josecarranza75555 жыл бұрын
That was not the case in the 60’s when the league was growing. If you did that today, yes every 10 teams would be a super team but in the 60’s no and there was no free agency back then.

Bill Russell is a winner on and off the court. The stuff Bill Russell witness and done in his lifetime is so amazing. Just hearing about his life so much trumps MJ as a player and person off the court. Bill took a stand and didnt wait until it was safe. That says something about the man. MJ always waits until its safe and then some or wouldnt say nothing at all. I cant believe Russell went down to Medgar Edgers hometown to start a basketball clinic in that racist town..WoW...
