This interview reminds me of the famous saying, you either stand for something or fall for anything. Bill Russell stood for something.

Cynthia ChinueX Cornelius M.A.Ed. That's the truth... they are sorry for the way you had to react to it versus what they actually did.

Bill Russell is a beautiful, gracious intelligent man. I looked at a video on Oscar Robinson who faced the racism @ the time and his story is incredible! These athletes were too good and too great to have to put up with the abuse they faced. Even Wilt Chamberlain found ways to deal with it, but it's shameful Americana.

I agree with him about the lack of value about apologies. He's right. When someone says they're sorry because they regret the reaction to what they did and not what they did.

He has got that right. Apologies from business owners are motivated by money.

That man was more than a basketball player; he was a civil rights activist too. He refused to play in Kentucky when the hotel's restaurant refused to serve him and his black teammate.

Bill Russell is brilliant. He was a great player, one of the best ever, But in addition to being a great athlete, he is so smart. As a white American, I am so ashamed of the way he and his black teammates were treated in Louisville, Boston, and elsewhere. God bless him for his ongoing dignity.

Ton of respect for Bill Russell. I guarantee you that he would not have played in yesterday's game, and likely would have never played for the team again.

He knew doggone well the blacks on the other team would not play either. Again, he was raised as a man and not a rabbit.
