Excellent points from both Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless. I think they're both right. I hope Rose can figure out how to deal with the pressure, because that city needs him. He CAN take them to the promised land, but I think he needs help, just like Michael got from Scottie Pippen.

I agree with Bayless's point of view on the 2011 playoff side of D Rose. His heart is in it and he's trying to do too much whereas he doesn't have a cocky attitude. He's straight up and plays with all his heart but tries to do too much. My opinion, that MVP reward was too much for em. If he didn't get that titled, I think he would've played differently
@mskux19
@mskux19 12 жыл бұрын
Judging by D.Rose's demeanor, he doesn't seem like an outgoing type of person. He seems very reserved and introverted. Look at the All Star lineup introductions. LeBron and D Howard be dancing everywhere looking silly and D.Rose is just standing there being serious. He should interact with his fans but not all people are at ease with doing such a thing.

I highly disagree with that, when he got the MVP he played like there was no tomorrow, because he had to live up to it. I don't believe in Bayless' "tries too much" because there's no such thing. The guy has pride in his game and in his 4th quarter abilities, he isn't afraid to take responsibility for the team, and he just is a leader. Rose is a great great fit for chicago. The bulls wanted a leader so bad that we actually almost settled for gordon as the franchise player. But rose came through.

I think Derrick rose being out for more then a whole season turned out for the best. Now he can realize that he doesn't need to put all this pressure on himself seeing how his teamates can play without him, so now he is more in a PG status were he can trust to pass the ball and to add himself into the way Chicago has recently been playing, I believe they can win a championship with how their roster when derrick rose is back

Stephen A. Smith is right on his last statement regarding LeBron not choosing Chicago. If LeBron went to Chicago, expectations would be sky high for him. He would be REQUIRED to exceed Jordan's six rings, and go toe to toe with Jordan's stats. Because had he gone to Chicago and failed to do so, he will be remembered as the guy behind Jordan's shadows. Now I understand why LeBron chose Miami instead.

I agree with most comments I've seen on this topic but I think one more thing that needs to be said that hasn't is Derrick Rose needs to come to the conclusion with himself and mangement and ask for another star player or superstars player. Look at the league right now teams just be loading up. Knicks, Nets, Celtics, 76ers(who nobody seems to be talking about), and Heat. And that's just the east. Still got the Thunder and Lakers out west.
@Sulemagnificent
@Sulemagnificent 11 жыл бұрын
Guys who can break down defense are extremely important in the playoffs. The Heat have already beaten them in the playoffs with a healthy Rose. On the bright side, Nate Robinson and Deng are the keys to winning. If they can score big in the playoffs with Chicago's tough defense, who knows what could happen.
@beljonn
@beljonn 12 жыл бұрын
Now, your description of someone wanting it all, without winning anything, fit Dwight Howard like a glove. LeBron embraces the spotlight, but I don't know anyone that has ever said winning was not important to him. I think his decision to leave a bad organization like the Cavs proves that winning is what's important to him. Rose can win 10 rings and he still won't like the fame. It's just not who he is.

that"s just a matter of differing personalities. LeBron has a very outgoing personality, and has no problem embracing and managing what comes with that. He said it himself that the final of 2011 humbled him, and he learned. Rose does not want the fame, regardless of winning or losing. LeBron didn't want the fame before he won, he was given the fame before he won. Sports Illustrated put him on the cover as a junior in high school, calling him "The Chosen One"; different circumstances.

Thing is that Derrick Rose needs his own Robin. It was clear, ever since 2011 in the ECF, that the Bulls need a second scoring threat that serves as Rose's Robin. Now, if Miami got to pick him instead of Chicago, I wonder how Wade and Rose would've played together.

It'd be the Milwaukee affect. Jennings and Ellis both can get 20/10 every night but it never produces wins on a regular basis. maybe Rose and Harden could be like Wade and LeBron but I doubt that..I think it'd be too much indecision. Bulls would still win a lot, but come playoff time they might be like the Heat in 2011. who takes the final shot? who runs the point in the clutch? it's Roses team but Harden took over for Westbrook time after time after time. Go Bulls!
@Sulemagnificent
@Sulemagnificent 11 жыл бұрын
Harden would be a good fit anywhere. The guy's scoring is like top 5 in this league. The Bulls need help scoring and pressuring the Heat defense. If Harden wanted to win a ring this year, the Bulls would have been a good option alongside Rose.

How did she compare Jay Cutler to Derrick Rose? wtf 1/2 the city hated Cutler for not playing through pain during a Green Bay (our biggest rival) championship game. Rose played until he could not stand. And with his heart he would've been out there in a wheelchair taking shots just so we could win. No1 takes the Bears seriously w/Cutler. The whole league fears Chicago w/Rose playing. Big difference. 1/2 the city wants to marry D Rose.

Are you kidding me!? Once rose is back do you realize how good the bulls will be? Sure it may take a few games for rose and the team to start clicking again but when thats done do you!? Luol deng who is currently pretty much their go to guy is averaging 16 points per game. Now some may say "oh only 16? that sucks" But really it doesn't! You try averaging that in the nba. Now once rose is back he will most likely average about 21 even if that. Those two together plus noah and boozer? Unstoppable.
