Boise state is so historic to college football. Blue Field, Small university outgrew expectations to a national football brand over the last two decades. We all want and need Boise state to invest in the facilities and recruiting for them to be a power 5 school. They mean to much to college football

As a football fan born in Idaho, splitting time between CA and here, I always rooted for the broncos as that's all Idaho has. Watching that fiesta bowl in Cali with nobody REALLY knowing bsu, I was the only one that thought bsu had a chance, little biased, but best CFB game EVER. Remember, that was Adrian Peterson theat defense held back

Since 2007, BSU beat the Oregon 3 times, Washington, Washington State, TCU, Oklahoma, Virgina Tech, Georgia, Florida St, Virginia, Oregon State x2, Utah, Arizona, Arizona State. None of this is easy with MWC budget and recruiting.

Easy fix: the entire Mountain West conference merges with the last two PAC 12 teams to make the “PAC West” conference and the conference champion plays in the BCS system. Other Group of 5 teams are then able have a more open field to get in as a ranked team without what is arguably the most dominant team in that group stealing a spot from a possibly more deserving team; regardless of schedule. Forces the dominance that BSU has had in a smaller conference to replicate it as part of larger conference where recruiting could improve for all of the schools in that merger.

It would depend what happens in the season. The only time in history 2 G5 teams ever made it was in 2009, but in that season one of the G5 teams was back to back undefeated and went undefeated 3 of the last 4 years and the other had the 2nd most Top 25 wins in the league only behind alabama. Together the two teams also ranked #1 in offense, #1 defense and #1 and #2 in MOV per game. Now in a 12 team playoff it is possible that you would have seen multiple G5 teams make it.

Utah State plays Utah, Kansas and Washington State, UNLV plays Houston, Kansas, Syracuse, Wyoming plays Arizona, BYU, and Washington State,.

I think it's funny how BSU takes credit for "busting the BCS." Convenient how the fans (and ESPN on their history of CFB series) forget Utah did it first. Thought the Oklahoma Fiesta bowl was a great one.

Boise State was new to the FBS as of 9 years at that point. Utah had their run in the Mountain West, while Boise State had their run in the WAC, which was a less respected and competitive conference at the time. Oklahoma's success as a program overall and recently was more revered than Pittsburgh. Oklahoma had star players like Adrian Peterson, a national championship win 7 years prior and a natty appearance 2 years prior to that Fiesta Bowl. Utah's a fantastic program and they compete at a higher level than Boise right now for a reason, but both programs had a hand in helping inspire the CFP. I think Boise gets the BCS busting title because they really were more under dog than Utah was.

If you think thats all theyve done you dont know what youre talking about. 2006 BSU was 1 of 5 undefeated teams in 8 years and they arent even in the top 3 best Boise State teams. They arent know for major bowl games, cuz they have a very bizarre history of getting shafted out of playing in them.... They literally have more undefeated seasons and more seasons as the best G5 teams than major bowl appearance, which you would think would be impossible. Theres also the reality that this team plays consistently at a higher level than over 90% of the entire league..... The last 25 seasons they have literally averaged a 10.5 win record. There are only 14 teams in the entire league that are better than this. They also currently hold the ALL TIME record for consecutive winning seasons at 28. They are the only team in the entire league to not have one this century, and they have had a grand total of 5 losing seasons since 1941. Since 2000 they have had 12 conference titles, 15 11+ win seasons; 17 Top 25 appearances, 7 Top 10 appearances, won 65% of bowls, and undefeated in major bowls. In the last 30 years no G5 program has accomplished a similar record. Like if you need any indication that joining a P5 has nothing to do with competition compare UCF and BSU. UCF and BSU joined FBS Division 1 in the same season in 96. Since then UCF is now in the B12....... BSU has had 267 more wins than UCF between 1996-2023. That aint close dude.......

Cool still won’t get them into the playoffs. Also I live in Boise and have lived in Idaho for about 24 years and worked at Boise State so might know what I’m talking about. If all those games are so important why are they still running that Oklahoma win on repeat in the bookstore? They were great and had a great run but that is not the team they have now and are cycling through head coaches which probably tells you they won’t make the CFP anytime soon.
