Elko was not the number 2 choice he was the choice of the players and the football culture who knew him. The stoops thing was a safe choice for our former athletic director and as a former student who talks football a lot with other former students, Elko was the first choice. As far as these misconceptions go, tu is not the richest or largest school in Texas it's Texas A&M and has been for 20+ years. Texas has just had a big problem of bragging about having a lot of resources.
@rickeybenson82316 сағат бұрын
You've been drinking way too much maroon Kool-Aide and have obviously gone over to the delusional side. Elko is a good coach, far better than what A&M deserves, who very reluctantly changed QBs at the beginning of the 3rd Quarter. Otherwise, the outcome of this game would have been a lot different because Aggie was getting curb stomped at the time. LSU prepared for the passing QB. They did not prepare for Reed. Aggie is not a drop back passing offense. They are a very violent smash mouth downhill running offense. They finally put in the QB that reflects that and won a game that they would have not won otherwise. Why did it take 8 weeks for the A&M coaching staff to figure that out?

@idktmlw17 сағат бұрын
It seems that the narrative out there right now is that TAMU was lucky to have Elko because Stoops was actually their first choice, but he didn't work out. If TAMU wanted stoops first, offered, and then rescinded after further discussion with important TAMU people, then it sounds like TAMU made the deliberate decision to hire Elko over Stoops. I may be an Aggie homer, but this is based on Finebaum's explanation
@SignalCorps116 сағат бұрын
This is exactly what happened. The AD and a couple of big boosters wanted another high profile coach to replace Fisher, but the balance (majority) of the money wanted Elko, but they also wanted to be part of the decision. The AD made the offer thinking the broader booster community would support the move and found out otherwise.

But not only was RC Slocum the winningest COACH he was an excellent defensive mind. Coach Elko is of the same mindset. Defense wins ballgames, in game adjustments win ballgames and coaching leadership wins ballgames-making tough decisions for the good of the team. Finebaum saying non-mean things about someone? No thanks. I’ll bypass this video. I’d rather hear anyone else bash us than hear his hack self say an hour of great things.

LSU just can’t get the type of players you need to succeed in college football. Brian Kelly has to just shop down a different aisle. I mean not just any team can come in to A$M at night and win a game.

The Bayou is loaded with quality football that want to play football and are willing to get down and blood knuckles dirty to win a spot and keep it. "Cat Ball" is still in LSU but Notre Dame is not going any further than 75% as HC. If one player steps up as a distinct notable like Jayden Daniels they could have gotten possibly somewhere between 80-85%. Even for Daniels that was a stretch. LSU is back to LSU ball under LM. They may pass a lot more but small frame QB's with no "read" skill's and no "bare knuckles into the grunge" practice...? the hype wins because it looks pretty. Without the rise of a player distinction (80-85%) LSU is 75%. Which is exactly the number they posted last year, will be this year end, look forward to it next year. THIS is LM/BK ball.

LSU has no way to compete with A&M when they get outbid for talent.. Le'Veon Moss wanted to go to LSU but went to A&M due to money.

A&M can't outbid LSU -- the Tigers are hospital-funded.

Alabama will surprise when you least expect them to do so; after all, their tradition/football legacy/history is among the best in the nation/South. Two of the greatest coaches of the game have called T Town home. Bama has a long history of beating LSU in Tiger Stadium--check the record to see that my words are true.

@@eglc4757how is vandy a horrible loss if they were ranked in the top 25 an almost beat Texas and a 10-2 bama easily gets in

keep telling yourself that & enjoy watching a 10-2 Bama in the playoffs
