He’ll be right behind all the other greats, he’s probably a top ten coach of all time, Georgia was rock solid when Richt gave it to him, all the other coaches built their programs from the bottom.

NIL is fine. These kids are putting their bodies on the line for our entertainment, they deserve to get paid. The no rules or cap you could say is bad. But make a cap and Colorado, Vandy and Northwestern will still never matter. Miami, all TX teams, TN, USC, etc... all spend a lot of money. None win Nattys in recent years. Guess blame NIL. Georgia takes less than a handful of kids out of the portal, where Ole Miss and Colorado are built of portal kids. Guess the Portal is why teams win. Have you watched the game?

I don’t know if it was a jab at Saban. Finding no joy in winning would, to me, be an overall culture issue… meaning Kirby, and other coordinators/position coaches help Nick drive that. Just my $0.02. I think Kirby’s respect for Nick Saban is very deep and he’s prob being god honest when he says it.

I don’t think so. It just comes with the territory. Bama had an unrealistic and mind blowing winning dynasty. It would be easy to lose the sense of satisfaction for winning. And it’s no secret that Coach Saban was really hard on players and expected to win every game. Kirby saw it when he was there and knew he had to remedy that once Georgia got to the top.

Of course they are going to sustain. There is only one program in the country that is blessed with one huge advantage, and that is being located in a state with a large population that is football obsessed and doesn't have even one legitimate in-state rival to deal with (no, G-tech doesn't count). Take Alabama for example, it has half the population and the players grow up pretty evenly divided between being Bama or Auburn fans. Look at Florida, they have 3 major programs competing for in-state talent. Don't even think about Texas or California, I lost count trying to come up with all the Power-5 schools in each state competing for talent. Kirby seems like a pretty good guy, but there are probably at least 5 other coaches who could come in with what he has access to and do just as well or better. I know people will say that doesn't matter, that the big schools recruit nationally, but the core is usually home grown.
