As a vol fan, I’ve spent years not liking Kirby. Now that saban is gone, this is the closest we have to that level of greatness. I spent years not liking saban until I looked past my orange colored glasses and started respecting and enjoying what he did. Same with Brady but I digress. Whether you love or hate Kirby, you have to enjoy witnessing and respect what he’s doing at UGA

As a dawgs fan I really appreciate this comment. We got a good one and I’m glad he’s able to shed the dumb blind hatred that plauges casuals. I’ve met kirby multiple times and every time I talk about the one time I played golf with him and I beat him. And every time he gives a new, genuine response and idk I see that side, and then you watch the leaked pregame speeches, and it just feels like we have the best coach in football. And he went to our school. It’s a fairytale situation and I understand why people hate out of jealousy but thank you for seeing past it

He is what all College coaches should aspire to be but very very few have the drive the dedication the work ethic the talent and the love and loyalty to the game of football and to The University of Georgia. This is his dream (as well as nightmare at times) but it means alot when u know that ur HC isn't about to leave to go and coach another college team regardless of money or perks or anything. Theres a reason these kids buy into the culture and the grind at UGA cause it's not easy at all and these kids see that it's not just "coach speak" coming from Kirby... he holds himself and his coaches to the same standard or higher and man Kirby is a TRUE HC... he is not just decent at the many different responsibilities or hats u have to wear as a HC ... he is a master at them all AND he is humble enough to try and improve himself his staff the team and the program. How many guys can come in as a new HC convince the AD and those in charge to give him the necessary support facilities staff and budget ... as a brand new HC..!!! How many new HCs can go out and convince the boosters the alumni and the fanbase to buy into (literally and figuratively) his vision of what it would take to put UGA at the championship caliber level yr in and yr out before coaching his first game really ... he raised well over half maybe more of the tens of millions of dollars it took to where now UGA has the nicest most advanced facilities and support staff in the Nation... I laugh remembering how everyone would say oh he's just a recruiter or DC but not a really good HC... hahaaa he's the best in the business and no disrespect to Nick Saban at all but Kirby has been the best for the last 3 to 4yrs. His vision and plan worked so well that even with spending I know it was $90+million or higher and going through the whole Covid ordeal... the University of Georgia hasn't struggled whatsoever financially and has become one of the most lucrative brands in all of CFB to the point they had built up a reserve that allowed them to coast through Covid yr financially speaking whereas other programs could barely afford to field a team... some couldn't. Kirby is just a genuine real no BS lead by example guy that has a desire to compete and be the best at everything he does ... he's honest and and u can tell he's there to WIN not just coast through and collect a paycheck and the players and coaches see and feel and want to be apart of it. I mean he's won 85 outta the last 100 games played... better than Saban, Spurrier; Fulmer and even Bear Bryant! His record in just 8yrs is 96Ws - 16Ls.... and the only HC to win back to back Nattys in the modern playoff Era. Just a recruiter... not a good on-field HC... OK whatever u wanna call him we'll settle for that over ANY HC IN THE NATION WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT. Go ahead compare ur HC to Kirby... that feeling there would be disappointment my friend. FACT! GO DAWGS!!!!

That interview was good on good, thanks Josh. I think Smart learned so much from Saban, the Master, but he's got a demeanor that is much easier to relate to and is more affable. As a Michigan fan I genuinely like Coach Smart and think that even though he's too humble to admit it, he is now definitively the top dog in CFB coaching in terms of respect, accomplishment, and influence. Georgia is truly blessed to have this man running their program.

One thing that’s cool about Kirby is, he actually likes and cares about other coaches a ton. He mentions things all the time about how he’s passionate about wanting the job of the coach to be sustainable, to be successful and how he wants to make a difference for his players’ lives but also other coaches. Even if you’re not an SEC person or don’t care for UGA, even his rival coaches are always raving about what he’s doing for the sport

I knew when he left Tuscaloosa to go to Athens that he would have something great going in fairly short order. That was true and should continue at a high level. When you listen to him talk about the sport, the meaning, the importance for the young men he coaches, then it’s easy to see why if you add those qualities to his recruiting abilities that he will continue to have amazing success. AWESOME CONTENT !!!! Kirby is a Dynamo and a C.F. coaching ROCK STAR !!! 💯💯 Kudos Josh Pate for continuing to evolve as an interviewer and simplifying 'coach speak' to layman's terms. I love that you don't have a gimmick like a Pat McAfee or a gimmicky Chris Berman. Both those guys are decent in their own right, but they're more for the casual fan rather than us knowledgeable football guys who are heavily invested in our teams and C.F. as a whole. My only knock on you is that you're not as big of a U.G.A. fan as you should be considering you were blessed enough to be Georgia born and bred. I'll give you a pass, though, since nobody's perfect. 😉 GO🎉 DAWGS ‼️
