I think the best description of Ancelotti is that he doesn’t have a big ego like some other coaches. He is very lowkey. I observed his behaviour in the celebrations today with the La Liga win and he didn’t want to stay in front of the camera for long. He always lets the players be the highlight. Even when he does interviews you can hear how he speaks. No boasting or exaggeration. He takes responsibility and doesn’t look to blame others.

It's really impossible to rank coaches, they're so many ways a coach can be great. To me, obviously, guardiola, ajax's coach during their run of domination with cruijff, and Ferguson should be walk their way into the top 5 easily. But sacchi, Zidane, carlo, mourinho, klopp, and many more that i just don't know can be mentioned in someone's top 5 and i wouldnt be mad

Another thing to remember about Carletto: a year ago, with him at the helm, Everton were fighting for European spots, even at one time, people were talking whether they'd be able to maintain their form and challenge for a CL spot. Now, they're in the dog house fighting for survival. That speaks volume about him and his pedigree. Another thing, and this is something that has been talked a lot in the French media, sacking him was PSG's GREATEST and WORST mistake. With him, they would have won the CL within 2-3 years. All in all, Carletto, will always been one of us and I'd love to see him back at home, where he belongs, at Milan. Only thing left for him is to coach the Italian NT but that's another story. Forza Carlo, sempre uno di noi!

I love Carlo Ancelotti BUT ironically where he falls short is his record domestically. He's managed the likes of Juventus, AC Milan, Real Madrid, Bayern & PSG for the last 25 years but has only won 5 league titles. Granted winning in 5 different countries is remarkable but literally 1 title a piece. Meaning he didn't have any sustained dominance although he was coaching absolute juggernauts of the game. I would still have him as top 10 but when I compare him to Pep or Ferguson that domestic record put him a little short.

Ancelotti is top 3 of all time imo, he has won multiple leagues titles in different countries, his cv is impeccable but cryff and saf built legacies and "heritage " Of their respective clubs. People like to make the argument saf only won two ucl, it took him nearly 5 years to rebuild and win the epl, he had to constantly rebuild , saf never spent as much as real Or Chelsea in his hay days, he had to face legendary ac Milan, Barcelona, real Madrid, Bayern who had more appeal in attracting world class players at their prime. I can't remember one saf signing who was a top 5 player in the world when he signed. Rooney, Rio, Cristiano were prodigies. Everyone knows about class of 92. Speaking about cryff, this man probably influenced football the most, his intangibles are surreal, you cannot define his legacy with silverware he has won, he has help built two institutions ajax and Barcelona. Both of those club are defined by his playing style even today. Mourinho , klopp, pep you can argue they are tactically sort of better than saf Or cryff but when it comes to legacies or management as a whole saf, cryff stand above the rest.

Without overly complicating it: He overloads the ball-side and surrounds the opposition player in possession. These transitions are done quickly as if you are lucky enough to pull a long ball on them, the whole unit moves along to cut off passing angles. I don’t watch them much, but saw a perfect example of it today, where 4 Liverpool players surrounded 2 Newcastle players trying to play out of their own half. You couldn’t accomplish this with PSG’s players for instance. I saw Mo Salah pressing in minute 80, imagine Neymar and Mbappe doing that.

Before his latest title, Ancelotti had no discernable legacy or narrative around his managerial career to make a case for his inclusion in all time top 10 list. But at the moment, he's certainly there. The top 3 would still be: Ferguson, Guardiola, and Mourinho. Michels, Happel, Clough, and Paisley would probably be the next 4. Ancelotti would be rounding off the list with Del Bosque and Hitzfeld.

For those saying he could have won more Serie A titles with Milan and Juve. I'll say that Serie A was incredibly competitive and BY FAR the best league in the world at the time. To win the Series A was actually a lot harder than the CL. As a Milanista, I think he could have won more with that Milan team he had, specially in Europe, between 2003 and 2007, that team was a world beater. He could have and should won the CL in 2004 (unexplainable collapse away to Deportivo in the 1/4 finals after destroying them at the San Siro in the first leg) and 2005, that final, still can't understand it, 10 minutes of blackout cost us a much deserved CL. That 2005 Milan team was ironically the strongest and most complete Milan since Capello's and Sacchi's teams. In 2006 against Barca in the 1/2 we outplayed them at the Camp Now and the ref screwed us by disallowing a valid Sheva goal...But overall, he's a fantastic man, his main strength being that he is a master at man management, specially the egos of mega stars (Zidane, Del Piero, that entire juggernaut that Milan was in the early to mid 2000s, Real, Chelsea, Bayern and to some extend even at PSG with Ibra and a TOP coach and tactician. I hope to see him back at Milan in the future! Forza Carletto!

He is among other six coach-player with champions league title ( Muñoz, Trap, Pep, Cruyff, Zizou, Rijkaard) and then he completed with 5 major leagues titles? He definitely in top 5 coaches ever for me, eventhough I don't idolize him personally.

Ancelotti is my favorite manager of all time. People say "he never did it with a small club". Well, can these people name one manager who actually did it with a small club? Klopp never did anything at Mainz, he had a good style of football there, but the bottom line is he got them relegated. Dortmund were also a good team, that Klopp made great during his time. Pep has never even managed a small club. Jose has never managed a small club, Porto is one of the greatest Portuguese teams. SAF never did anything with any small team, he took a decent united team and made it great. isn't that what ancelotti has also done? he takes decent and good teams and makes them great. And his time at everton to me was good. they scored 59 points even though they finished 10th or something. 59 points is a good total, just look at the PL league table this season and how United could finish with less than 59 points this season. Everton squad is not as talented as people said they were. Calvert Lewin was a nobody till Ancelotti told him to play one touch shots and be a proper fox in the box as opposed to running around like an idiot as he did previously and even now. He set the bar for recruitment by bringing in Allan and James. It is said that ben godfrey and doucoure weren't his signings but the managements, so the players he brought in were certainly good for the style he chose to play for Everton. Look at everton now and how big a mess they are in. The only difference is Carlo doesn't call himself great. People need to show this man some more respect.

The love you give Ancelotti here is fully deserved and personally I support that. However, you are wrong when you speak about Mourinho and SAF. Porto may be the biggest club in Portugal, but is a tiny club in European terms - Mou won UCL with Porto, not just Portugese league. And about SAF, its like you dont even know he won the then champions league with Aberdeen against Real Madrid. If that is not a huge achievement with a small club I dont know what is. SAF was such a giant for Man United that people dont even care about what he did before. Again, winning the most prestigious European competition with Aberdeen for crying out loud....that in itself is a feat worth immortalizing.

I'm glad this question was asked, Carlo is going for his 4th UCL which would break the tie with his protégé Zidane, who used Carlo's players to get 3 a row after Carlo had already won a UCL with those players. He knows how to win the Big One, I think after this Final, he can tell Pérez to F*** off for what he did to him before and he can look to take over Italian National Team and try to win in 2026. Who is dumb enough to bet against him.
