I heard he had to lose 30 pounds in a day for this fight (or was it another fight) so I don't blame him for looking so sinewy and lanky and TIRED. Was this the fight that made him get his black belt though?

Everybody cuts weight and fight is day after weight in´s so you can gain weight back it´s just his excuses

@@frantisekv5861 Losing 30 pounds (an EXTREME amount of weight, both in absolute value and percentage of mass, for a weight cut) in a day isn't good for you, even if you can regain some of the weight by the next day. A fighter cutting weight doesn't immediately return to 100% once the number on the scale goes back to their normal weight.

I take my hat off to you Mr Dewey, you are not afraid to post a video of you loosing , as well as your wins. So many keyboard warriors out there and so many instructor's who have never been in a real fight let alone Full contact in a ring , then Criticising people who have the guts to get in that ring, so again more power to you for being totally honest in your views and your Experiences. Also I would like to hear your views on Systema, in particular Mikhail Ryabko, you will probably already know my views from my other posts on this type of training . A student of mine said I should watch this guy, she wanted to know when I was going to teach this kind-of thing to her, my short Reply was, NEVER , I have to admit it left me feeling quite despondent that what I had been telling her, and teaching her about real knife attacks was not getting through to her. Bye the way, I have never had a real knife fight. been lucky enough to have never been attacked by a knife, I am not a knife fighter, and in the words of Ryan Hoover, I don't know Any real knife fighters ,NEVER met one in the forty something years I have been doing Martial arts, I have on the other hand met hundreds of men and women who do stand next to one another playing Abbot and Costello ( patacake patacake bakers man type drills, so keep it as real as you can. From the film Maverick with Mell Gibson. This is especially true when it come to sharp pointy bladed weapons. He who runs away, lives to runaway another day. stay safe guys.

@youronlycow They got all the stats wrong for this show. My height, weight, age, fight records, the gym I train at, and who I was representing- I had to dehydrate 23 lbs to make weight on short notice after a miscommunication about the weight class for this fight. Don't ever do that, it's extremely dangerous. I could barely stand up walking into the ring. Leandro's ground game is way better than mine, no question, but as it was, this wasn't even a fight, I was already dead on my feet going in.

I hear what you’re saying about the weight cut but your technique on the ground was poor. Holding on to to neck for dear life left you open to the arm bar and the kimura. But credit to you for getting in there and having a go

Ramsay’s grappling has improved immensely since this fight. I don’t understand the hate. Ramsey is a smart man who loves his job and his passion of martial arts. Why shit on a man’s noble career. He fought won some fights lost some fights. He now coaches fighters in China and is trying to popularize mma in China. He’s also very educated and smart no harm no foul.

I get the feeling Ramsey moved to China because he was getting beat up by everyone at the gyms in the USA. Not to disrespect the fighters in China, but there is an abundance of athletic, explosive fighters in the USA who I'm sure tuned up Ramsey in sparring sessions.

He's a nobody that's why he has to pay for his own flight and hotel accommodation. That fight tournament was a low level event in Singapore. Never heard of it anymore.

Wow he fights like the kid in the class that is the worst at fighting ,in the school were non of the kids can fight and gives advice on self defense, who was he trying to punch from ten feet away, imagine watching someone trying to kick a ball and they are nowhere near it missing completely several times and seeting themselves up as a soccer coach.Maybe the guy can coach others, butit can't possibly be based on his own abilities, he has none.

Do you know the difference between coaching and fighting? Just because someone isn't a great fighter doesn't mean they can't be a good coach, Cus D Amato wasn't a good boxer but he coached Mike Tyson and look at what a beast Mike was in his prime.. Ramsey too, has coached and trained Chinese Pro fighters who have gone on to win many fights, Muhammed Ali was a brilliant fighter but a terrible coach
