Enough with the "standard" for the New York Yankees being WS or bust. They have ONE championship since 9/11. They have choked every October after big regular seasons, Dallas Cowboys style. That's all a reflection on the owner who is in.comptent and refuses to get rid of deadweight. So you and the rest of the h.aters could stop making yourself feel better because mark my words they will be back. And to compare them to the cowboys who haven't won since 96! Is ridiculous. First of all, the reason the Yankees lost was because they relied too much on certain players and had a thin roster. The Dodgers had a deeper roster. Secondly, many Yankees players had an "I'll decide" or "I, I, I" attitude. All of the Dodgers players were committed to team play, saying "Let's just get on base and keep the ball going." I think this difference in awareness of team play was also the cause of the Yankees' three consecutive errors. This shows that a team cannot win just by using money to attract good players.

It's almost like injuries are just totally minor inconveniences that don't have any impact at all, especially on the shoulder of an athlete who just might need it for, oh I don’t know, hitting and running. But let's not trouble ourselves with such trivialities, shall we? I’m sure there’s some cosmic truth in overlooking the fact that Ohtani couldn’t exactly dazzle us from the dugout while nursing what is surely just a slight, insignificant shoulder dislocation. I mean, why let a practical necessity like a functioning shoulder interfere with a good old-fashioned narrative about his supposed lack of performance through injury-induced pain after Game 2? And before that injury, it's as if Ohtani's clutch double in Game 1, the one that tied the game 2-2 in the 8th and set up Freddie's grand slam, never happened. Funny how that moment doesn't fit the narrative, huh? Heaven forbid we recognize how that hit prevented the Yankees from casually strolling through Game 1 without a dramatic, spirit-crushing walk-off. And sure, let's keep pretending that Ohtani's pivotal contribution to the Dodgers' spark was just completely irrelevant. Seriously, it seems like no one remembers Ohtani's great LCS performance before the devastating injury, where he had 1.184 OPS, .364 batting average, leading with 9 runs all while moonwalking through bases with his 17 TIMES on base. With a mind-boggling .818 with RISP, the dude basically turned baseball into an artform. He was the unsung NLCS MVP. But of course, let's pretend none of that brilliance ever happened, all because he didn't magically homer in every game with just one hand in the WS. Not to mention Ohtani saved the team from getting swept by the Padres with his clutch 3-run homer. Without Ohtani, the Dodgers would’ve undoubtedly thrown in the towel in that game and gracefully rolled over, just as they’ve perfected in the last two years. In summary; these casual critics have such a gift for missing the point entirely, don't they? Overlooking his obvious injury and instead, conveniently summing up his WS as "did nothing", as if the obstacles he faced weren't glaringly obvious and didn’t carry the Dodgers to the WS.

Here's my honest take on Ohtani. I don't watch baseball. I came to see Ohtani. Overall, I wasn't that impressive. He has his moment here and there, some flashes here and there...but I expect more than that...I expect something the like of Soto performance where they're actually afraid of pitching to him. But I see so many strikeouts from pitchers against Ohtani...that's why he had twice as many strikeouts than against any of his teammate. He had so many swing and miss that makes me question if he's actually that good? I know people talk about how great he is based on the regular season stats...and I don't watch any of those games. I watched only the postseason and came away unimpressive. Now, I can say the same thing about Judge...he's really bad in the first 3 games and again, makes me question if he's actually that good? But then he shows up in game 4 and 5 and erased some of my doubt. Maybe my doubt of Ohtani is also unjust, who knows lol. Maybe sometimes, baseball is just a game of hit and miss and how great of a hitter you are is not necessarily determined by you, but by the pitchers. I truly think the pitchers of Dodgers in game 4 is terrible...thus letting Judge get off the hook.

i hate to pile on Judge but this postseason he was horrible he had some flashes but ultimately he didn't live up to the name on the back of his baseball card. Soto showed up, Stanton showed up, Gleyber showed up , Cole was great but Judge didn't. that 5th inning it started with him a routine fly ball to center and he misread it and from there the inning spiraled. just a tough loss you're not supposed to lose that game you're up 5-0 at home with Cole dealing and you lose inexcusable.
@HK58973Ай бұрын
Ik as a Yankees fan this just hurts but props to the dodgers the Yankees defense did it to themselves in the 5th inning
@jshudo44Ай бұрын
Cole could have gotten them out of that inning as well. Volpe messed up that throw before that, this team had three chances to stop that rally by the Dodgers. Can’t blame it all on Judge. Dodgers were just the better team overall

You can't be surprised by how he played, that is the way Judge plays in the postseason....he's gutless when the pressure is on.

Judge error was just that. An error. Cole was sulking like a little hoe after the two errors and that was the fifth inning.

The score was still 5-0 when he made his error. Cole not covering first led to all 5 runs. It would have ended the inning 5-1!

SOTO is very disappointed with the performance of his teammates during the Series. Especially Aaron's performance. SOTO is not staying. Even if the money is somewhat there, he wants to be a part of a Wining team! He wants the money from a Winning Team. Yankees proved not to be that. And correct These Yankees are certainly NOT what they use to be. I see SOTO going to the Mets, Dodgers, possibly The Giants. He said very clearly, he's open to listen and negotiate.
