I’m 98% sure Flaherty didn’t want anything to do with Tatis in the 6th inning and he figured he’d rather hit him than walk him. I’d actually like to personally thank Flaherty for losing his cool and making the biggest start of his career a personal vendetta with Manny and giving the Padres extra motivation to win this series. Thank you Jack for not being a professional, for letting your emotions get the best of you, and letting down your Dodger teammates. On behalf of all Padres fans, we appreciate your immaturity!

It seems as though there is always one unbearably annoying player in MLB at any given time, and they always have their pride goeth before the fall season suddenly and drop off the map as quickly as they rose. Brandon Phillaps was kinda sorta that guy, though he wasn't too bad. Then it was Carlos Gomez, then it was Tim Anderson, now it seems to be Profar.

Phillies v Mets is 2 of the largest markets in baseball going back and forth in a game that ends in a walk off and they spent 5 minutes on them. Lets give 30 minutes to the game that was a blowout. Make it make sense.
@Lawrence_61918 сағат бұрын
My takeaway from last night, was the look on Mookie's face, sitting on the bench, in the bottom of the 8th...impending doom. Because he knew last night's game was must-win, given how messed up their rotation is. If they'd won, they can go to SD, with an all hands on deck mentality, because they would just need one game of the two there, to win. Now, even if they make it back to LA, everything is dicey because they don't even know if they can depend on their 325 million guy. When Yamamoto sees brown and mustard in the other dugout, dude looks like a deer caught in headlights.

As a lifetime Mets fan I have had little to second guess Mendoza. But not letting Butto go a few innings in favor of Diaz in the 7th? Maton and Stanek had pitched day before. Diaz had been heavily used and stretched a couple of times since diving back in with the Braves. Could have Butto pitch into or thru 8th leaving Diaz for closer he is use to?

Can someone explain what happens when two players (Flaherty/Machado) end up on the same team as team mates? Whether it be via an all star game or a trade later in their career Do they squash their beef? Or just kinda tolerate each other?
@NatTurnerswitBurnerz20 сағат бұрын
If it's an ASG, they just tolerate each other for a couple of days. If they become teammates and they still have beef, they have to squash it. Other teammates may have to intervine as peacemakers if they can't settle it on their own.
@pjsavagejr5 сағат бұрын
@@NatTurnerswitBurnerz thank you! I appreciate your response. I asked because I had always wondered about it. Player's personality and relationship with others were on my mind all of the 2023 Padres season. I was convinced that all the talent on last years team were butting heads. Some thought Manny & Tatis had problems (not me) while it was no secret that Hader and Soto weren't exchanging holiday cards, I think that maybe Bogaerts and Manny still had unresolved opinions on each other from that time Manny slid into second base taking out Dustin Pedroia (Xander's teammate on the Red Sox that year). But I'm glad that was the past. I do not think that any of the 2024 Padres are disliking each other. I F'N love this team (thx Preller). Their excitement on their walk off wins this year are full of good feels. It's like Merrill said "all of these guys are my best friends"

You try hitting a ball against a pitcher who throws 8-9 different pitches that bend/break in different directions. sometimes you just gotta tip your hat to the opposing team/starting pitcher
