From everything I have seen including Jones they wanted money upfront and Dana was offering more on the backend with PPV points going higher for both. Jones said no. Either way that’s irrelevant they both signed and were happy with the contracts they have already signed if they wanted to be paid more then they shouldn’t of signed the previous contracts. Negotiating a new deal comes when a contract expires. Nobody forced them to sign contracts to fight for the ufc they chose to sign with the UFC. On average ufc pays far more than any other mma organization and boxing. Only difference being is boxing has much higher high end money but that’s few and far between. Blaming this on Dana when it’s the fighters that chose to sign with the UFC is a terrible excuse. Want to get paid more generate hype for fights and sign 1-2 fight contracts asking for more money along the way.
