Gotta respect Jamahal and Jiri both for vacating the belt due to injury and not tying up the division. Every other champion sits on the belt when injured.

Islam sits on the belt without injury. Every champ should be mandated to fight once every 6 months or it’s vacated.

@@Freiheit1232Makhachev is getting screwd over by the UFC because of their deal with Abu Dhabi. Last year he wanted to fight 3 times but the UFC made him wait for october. And this year same thing, he wanted to fight on 299 but the UFC made him because they wanted to make O'Malley the main event. They have done the same to Chimaev, they both are ready and constantly call for fights, but since they are the biggest muslim starts in the sport right now the UFC waits to put them in arab cards.

@@digitalhillz Not only that but this is my gripe with Okamoto, I think he walks into it very pompously and it comes off as if he's having a more casual conversation with the fighter, which when done right can come off for a good listen, but man it's just so soulless with him on top of the fact he's a paid regular with vanilla questions, if it weren't for the fact ESPN has big time exclusives I'd never watch the interviews featuring him.

Honestly first ive seen of this take and not a bad one at all, really. Nate and Jorge aside, Pereira stands out for sure. It helps that Adesanya was also had huge star power and Alex stole a lot of it. Imagine if he spoke English! There wouldn't be the memes and charm to his stoicism though
