I know Bobby Heenan was the trailblazer for this role but what Heyman has done with his time in pro wrestling is nothing short of amazing. He was the catalyst for a lot of significant change in the industry for the better and one of the most entertaining speakers we have ever seen. Well deserved HOF inductee.

Dammit, Paul you hit me deep at the end about adversity. I’m going through bankruptcy now and I only get to see my daughters 33% of time because of a divorce. But I get to wake up each day and have a LOT for which to be grateful. I’m an old school wrestling fan who still hates the villains. So I’ve hated you for years 🙃. Thank you for showing your true character and thank you for helping me see the truth. Eric

One of my favorite interviews I've ever listened to. When he talked about his parents and what they went through (Holocaust/WW2) and their relentless approach to life in the aftermath of some of history's most traumatic times... that was genuinely inspiring. And it makes the arc of Paul's life make so much sense. He dealt with tons of backlash and setbacks, and now he's on top of the world. When they chanted "You deserve it" at the Hall of Fame speech, his reaction was exactly correct. He really does.

Paul is an absolute genius when it comes to this business. Besides him Cornette and JR are two others that come to mind. That just KNOW through and through what it takes to make a promotion work. I'm so glad Dusty took a chance on him, that JR taught him what he knows about commentating. And that most importantly booker's FINALLY realized yeah this guy is full of ideas but they are BRILLIANT one's. Without that we'd probably never have an ECW to reflect back on. That promotion and it's talent were ground breaking for it's time. The things they accomplished and pulled off. It gave the fans of this industry a different outlet right at the very moment it was needed. It even influenced 2 larger promotions in both WWE & WCW to become more "extreme" in there own way. Call it a cult of fans for this small promotion out of Philadelphia to turn into the 3rd major promotion of it's time. But what the fans want the fans get. And they didn't just crave it in ECW they wanted to see it in the big 2 as well. I truly hope that we will now see an "edgier" WWE style of programming moving forward. It's long overdue and with them moving onto the Netflix platform the possibilities are endless for that. I think they've played the "PG era" as far as it will go. And i don't mean going hog wild with the violence and profanities that ECW got away with. Or even the WWE back in the "attitude era". But they certainly could get close to that and still keep it "family friendly". So i'm not asking for R or X rated programming. But "PG-13" Raw's and Smackdown's and maybe some PPV's having TV-14 content shouldn't be asking for to much.
