Leave either in a separate comment! ✅Checkout REDMAGIC 10 Pro Gaming Phone here: bit.ly/48VGkpb & www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DMSMNB51 Extra TIPS Suggested by community! - Check the controls! A lot of things you can do with your mouse and keyboard! Pressing space bar can pick up items, ctrl + f is force attack etc, check the controls of the game in the settings menu! - The watering can trick doesn't work on console I'm told, so use the other methods I mentioned instead!:) - For fuel for fires and flingomatics, charcoal, manure, guano & logs are preferable to other fuel types like beefalo wool and glommer goop since the former is easy to get whereas the latter is a bit rarer and has other uses. - If you suffer with lag when caves are turned on, use the 'Don't Starve Alone' Mod which reduces lag as it switches off caves when you're not in them and vise versa for the surface world. - This play through was done with the lag compensation setting turned OFF. This adds input lag but improves accuracy of timing attacks & dodging. - Using a hostile flare you can spawn in more Deerclops during winter to get more Deerclops eyeballs. - After mining 20 gold in Autumn you might have more than 40 rocks, use those excess rocks to pre-craft a fire pit for your base later to save inventory space now! - (Forgot to mention) During summer if it rains then wildfires won't happen until the rain stops - Wildfires only happen during day time in summer, they don't happen in dusk or night since the world becomes slightly cooler. - Consider making a chest full of lanterns rather than holding light bulbs in a fridge! @loveeens - Instead of a seed fridge, consider making the seed pack-it, a backpack that can store all the crop seeds in the game. FAQ - Q. Why change the base layout from previous guides? A. The old base still works! But this new base basically sacrifices a little bit in aesthetics for more room & functionality, I also liked the idea of having a corner of the base empty for players to have room to build whatever they want to experiment! Otherwise it's just a general idea of what to have in the base. The shape is the one thing that probs shouldn't be changed :)

@@rsolo9294 can you explain how to play relaxed in this game? 😂 I always panic and try to get things done quick because I worry about dying
@rsolo92947 сағат бұрын
@@DurtyDepot sflr, At the start i focus a lot on gathering stuff. Get lots of grass twigs to set up farms. Food is not issue early game as it is abundant and avoid fights where u can. It's really easy to survive. Theres no need to panic. Unless youre playing wigfrid, then you can kill some beef, koala or eat cooked monster meat. For sanity you can protoype structures when you're sciencing. Or pluck flowers theyre renewable anyway. If im able to i prototype birdcage, ice box crockpot on the go as well. If you got lots of gold just set down and alchemy for a lantern if you want but torches will be fine if you have been collecting your grass and twigs. Science machine is cheap and returns the gold dont be afraid do drop it to craft a backpack for space. Only collect the necessary stuff. Dont carry around itens you dont need if you come across them. If they are really important you can drop them in a backpack to come back another tine for them. If you have been exploring and took the time to gather lots of resources, you can actually rush dfly early on. Its the one boss I highly recommend to rush because it gives the good stuff. For ruins and warmth in winter. And you'll be able to find lunar island easily which you can go during winter for some stonefruit and kelp. I usually dont rush lunar but it's easy to pinpoint if you have explored the main land edges. Kelp makes for great filler and stonefruit are always nice to have. Every run is different. So its hard for me to say how you should start it in more detail. Sometimes I have the sufficient resources to start taming a beef by day 7. (I dont like taming beef early or at all unless it's convenient). Playing lights out a few times, where gold cant be gotten from pk, pk is actually a good reliable place to base, but not a necessity. You can make any place a base location but prioritise having a nearby wormhole and cave entrance first. Also oasis sucks and i'll die on this hill. I turn off wildfires when im playing long term or with friends not worth it. If you are still struggling then just focus on surviving each day and season and taking down the seasonal bosses. Jakeys guide is really good especially since he took the time to play an entire year to show us how to survive indefinitely. Manage your inventory and also clothing items are really underrated. Have fun.

Nice guide Jakey! Here's a tip from me if it wasn't mentioned yet. Instead of a seed fridge make a seed pack-it (requires broken shells but they are easy to get from slurtles or their mounds downstairs). It works as a fridge for seeds but has more slots and is portable, nice to equip when picking up crops as seeds will automatically go to seed pack. Here's another tip: instead of storing lightbulbs in the fridge and refueling one lantern I usually make a lantern chest and swap them as they go low. Then once all lanterns are out of fuel, I get a stack of lightbulbs and refuel them all at once. It is a bit more expensive but a lot more convenient if you play with friends.

Now THIS is how you make a guide! It's way better at helping beginners with what they need than your old guide did IMO. With that said, there are some things that you maybe should have mentioned that I suggest you put in the pinned comment/description. The first one is controls! I've seen MANY noobs not realize that you can pick up things with space bar or use anything other than the mouse for anything. At 4:55 I was like: "yeah about 1% of new players know how to do that". The only other thing I had was that you should have put huge emphasis, LIKE THIS, on that you should PICK GRASS AND TWIGS UNTIL YOU HAVE 40 EACH so you don't run out and focccin' die. SOOO many noobs simply run past grass and twigs after they gather like 5 and then they make a backpack and immediately go like: "ehh, I probably should have made a torch". Overall though, great guide!

But since this isn’t a "normal" way to get gold, it wouldn’t have worked for everyone. Also, I get that you might have turned around because you thought there wouldn’t be a rock biome nearby, but I think assuming it was because of the gold is much funnier.

Technically you will always find gold at the grave yard, though it can spawn not at the entrance of the masic, so a more complete way to get gold is through gold boulders to get rocks too, so that's why I ignored gold at the graveyard haha:)

make some dummy worlds and playthroughs and practice basic skills, 1 small playthrough could be spending the 10 first days in game trying to learn about the bioms, trying to reveal the OUTLINES of your map and gathering the neccesary items for the start of your base. this takes about 1 and a half hour ( 10 days * 8minutes per day) , so you can repeat that process 2,3 times to get the exploration part down, which is the same concept for each season after automn, only the items you carry with you change (temperature regulators). So keep trying untill you feel confident in that skill and you should be good to go to start a playthrough that will have a proper base setup and start fighting bosses/mobs after.

Ah okay, thanks for letting me know.

The cooling trick also works with withered plants and farm plots but I play on PC and don't know if it will work better than putting out a fire on console. Try putting the stone on a farm plot and watering it - will it let you water for as long as you want to, or only once? Either way you might be able to repeatedly water the same time farm plot as there's no limit on how much water you can pour into it (overwatering crops isn't a thing in this game, thank God!). It is a lot less convenient since it's only accessible in your base though - could just use a fridge or endothermic fire instead then.

@@loveeens You are right it does work with farm plots. Still not as good however, but at least it’s something.

This is a wonderfully detailed guide, with a lot of love and passion put into its delivery! ❤ But why are you telling beginners to use glommer goop and beefalo wool as campfire fuel? Is this to prank people playing on public servers? I don't understand. 🤣 For any new people reading this: there are FAR better uses for beefalo wool and especially glommer goop. Just use logs, dug turf you don't need, charcaol, poop lying around, low durablity wooden armor pieces, or dug spiky bushes as fuel. The list goes on, just don't use glommer goop for that, please. 😅
@JakeyosaurusАй бұрын
Haha I'm too far detached from public servers it would seem! I was thinking since you can shave a whole savanah of beefalo every few days that beefalo wool is quite expendable and only really used otherwise for beefalo hats... as for glommer goop I didn't want to teach people to eat it as they'd then need to restore the sanity or lose the gained health from shadow creatures attacking, hope you understand my reasoning! But otherwise Charcoal, Manure, Guano & Logs are better value fuel sources!
@taulitaulington197Ай бұрын
@@Jakeyosaurus I was more thinking about using glommer goop for hostile flares, which are essential in servers with up to 10 people, or making jam for knobly trees. But I can see how somebody could come to those conclusions, when you're not playing on pubs. ^^

Question: I play Don't Starve PE, and found glommer forest, but no pig king. Can he just not spawn sometimes?
@Jakeyosaurus29 күн бұрын
There exists a 2nd kind of deciduous orange biome which is the extra deciduous biome, which is similar to the pigking deciduous but has no pig king set piece and no glommer set piece!
@memdic698728 күн бұрын
@Jakeyosaurus well, that's the thing. Glommer statue is there, the village itself with the green floor and pig houses is there, but no pig king

@@Ecmj108 reign of giants has the same mods but some aren't compatible, also the game mechanics in ROG are different than DST

This would've been perfect for certain V-tubers I was watching 3-6 months ago when the two of them were learning about DST but I can't complain if I get more Jakey content. Just wished that it could've come sooner for those two that I wanted them to play. Maybe even 4 if they collabed again and stop trying to burn down the base...

only other way I was thinking I could have done it is literally bullet points really fast without explaining a lot, but I feel like James Bucket's video called 4 Seasons in 4 Minutes already does that very well and even though it's old, it still holds up to point out the basics.
