If I may... I have the same pad as the one shown here, and I don't kneel. It helps with ankle and even just general movement in the canoe. It also helps keep items from sliding around. I have a wetbag like shown but don't use it often for my day trips. What I find to be much easier is my Yeti cooler. It's a real nice one that used the same zippers and external material as a high quality wet suit. And it is just so much faster and easier to open and close than my wetbag is. So I can keep gear, and food in it, and it stays cool and dry all day... and then some. But this does not have to be a Yeti, it was just what I have. I also bring a thermos or large container drink. And gloves are also a wonderful piece of kit. Also your life vest is SUPER important. Not only does it help when needed, but how it fits (and its shape) can make or break a day out on the water. If you are out all day (or more) you REALLY notice the small things, like chafing, bulk, overall comfort, etc. Cheers! And keep paddling!

Love my Danuu canoe cover. I used it on the Oregon to California trip and it worked great. I didn't feel like it added any drag and we went through some pretty strong side winds for most of the trip, even pushing the car sideways. Well made with plenty of straps and loops for extra tie down if needed.

That does work in flat water! Where I live, we have awesome rivers with whitewater and northstars love get up on edge. Both fun things which would tip a coozie and get your toes drunk. 🤣
