More neat tips: - Flame/Frost/Schock Emitters fused to arrows behave the same as using fire fruit etc. The same is true for cannons to emulate bomb flowers - fusing monster parts to arrows is not always a bad idea, all teeth you get are made for arrows as their fuse damage gets doubled on them and they are otherwise more or less useless as materials

Interesting, I wasn't aware of the double-damage on teeth for arrow fusions. Especially as that's not noted anywhere in the TotK datasheet from Echo. Edit: After some brief testing, it seems more than just teeth double their damage. So far, "claws" and "talons" do as well. Further testing is required, it seems! Edit: After further testing, I suspect it's the non-scaling drops from mobs with higher non-elemental tiers. Hinox toenails and teeth, Moblin and Bokoblin fangs, Horriblin claws and Lizalfos talons are all those that I've confirmed so far. Like-Like stones do not exhibit this behavior, hence the "higher non-elemental tiers", as the only higher-tiered Like-Likes that exist are elemental ones (or armored ones if you count that? But that's not really a higher tier.)

@@Mightylcanis oh yes, I should have specified. Basic enemies which do not drop teeth often have a drop that corresponds to that same category. That's why Claws and Talons work as well. Usually deducable by the fact that you'll get them in large quantities and they are rarely useful for anything else

The only monster part you should use for bows are gibdo bones. Don't let the 40 damage fool you because as soon as you attach it to your weapon, and land a hit, that bone will break. So use them for arrows instead.

I would mildly disagree- those 200 red bokoblin horns I have that are *never* getting used for weapons because I already have white-maned lynel parts (still need to git gud with silver lynels) are just collecting dust. I happily use them on bow shots, along with the other very low-tier monster horns. Save for Construct horns, because if you've the patience you can spend them at capsule dispensers for zonai capsules, albeit at a low item:capsule ratio.

​@@Mightylcanisyou dont need to waste construct horns you can just get large zonaite from the depths and buy large charges at a depot then use that for the capsules. You get 20+ pods per 5 large charges Or you can farm the wings it island challenges because those also drop large charges at cheap prices

A good tip to also mention is that when fusing a wing to a shield, it makes you jump just high enough from the ground when you shield surf to activate bullet time. You get the slow down affect anywhere as a result.

yes this works well to trigger slowmo bow aiming, but this need some practice untill we get used to it

​@@Prominent96yes. Jump by pressing "X", at the highest point while jumping press "A". And "ZR" at the end. But I would advise you that you should press "B" before drawing your bow, so that you put away your shiel and not land on it and lose durability

@@warpitexis2341 hi there, I found a way easier method of doing it which doesn’t use a wing shield. Jump, press attack with any weapon and at the same time as the attack hold L. Once the ability menu pops up, close it whilst mashing left D pad to bring up the shield swap menu. Swap to a different shield and then let go of d pad whilst mashing attack to bring out your bow mid air which gives u bullet time.

Nice ideas, never thought of some of these. I like how they changed the stamina usage during slowdown. In BotW, it constantly drained but in TotK it only drains when you shoot an arrow. Also doesn't use stamina if you cancel your shot. Very nice when you want to methodically get multiple shots!

This was really helpful guide. I really did not know about the combo with water/Ice and shock type arrows. Fuse a weapon to a shield and the parry will deal damage. Also there is a mechanic where you can create a boomerang orbit by throwing it straight in the air and running. If it has a elemental attachment the boomerang can cause some chaos.

Learn the full range of your duck button! Time it right it'll save your life. I've used ducking extensively with Talos and Lynel... not only can you maneuver between they're legs, but also dodge horizontal melee strikes from Lynel. (Sadly no bullet time though.)

You can fuse a shield to a spear for the same benefit as fusing one to a two-handed weapon, and you can fuse elemental lizalfos tails to spears for extra-long-reach elemental effects.

Even a lizalfos tail to a one-handed weapon is nearly or beyond spear range, they're REALLY good!

for people who have poor aim, it will help to focus(zl) on the enemy. This sometimes will target the head and make it easy for you to defeat them. This trick is also useful on bosses and enemies that are moving away from where your bow is pointing at.

Bombs+Shield Surf is a great escape and damage dealing strat. You'll fall down faster, but that's not a big problem if you just need to get some air time for a shot or two.

It’s also great for bullet time and cheesing bosses. A rocket is great too although it will disappear after using so it’s good to have many shields with rockets.

using your resources really eases up the load by a million a lot of items have area of effect that deals damage to lots of enemies at once For example, I like to use bombs on enemies with wooden shields to burn them away Or muddle flowers to give some free hits Try to use every item, they all have some use 🎉 When in direct combat though, the monsters tend to take turns. If you target and retarget, it will focus a different one than before, sk get into the habit of retargeting to cycle through each enemy to see which one is swinging at you finally, you can totally just fight a little bit, and run away, and fight more and run away combat is really fun once you get all the tricks, i suggest experimenting with different techniques

@@NonJohns Plus, if you can tank the hits, charge-attacking with a two-hander is really, really fun. I imagine a "bouncy" one would be even more so, "bouncy" being when you fuse a mushroom (like a Hylian Shroom) to your weapon.

Speaking of abilities, if an enemy throws something at you immediately hit the trigger and use recall to throw it back at them. Ascend is also great for Taluses too, if you can get close just ascend above them and whack their funny part.

When im fighting a mini boss/strong enemy i use gibdo bones since they are easy to restore, i get up in the air with my wing shield then go for a slow-motion hit with gibdo bones.

one shot protection does not protect you from every attack regardless of armour, after a threshold you will die so armour is still important, with zonaite armour upgraded to max to have 84 defence you can survive any hit by having 4 hearts

For me I found parrying a lot easier than flurry rush. It has always been this way for me even in BOTW. I decided to practice my parrying on Octorocks when I was fishing for a 5 shot bow.

@@NonJohns for me partying is just a lot easier than flurry rush. Mainly because sometimes the joystick input isn’t correct due to the camera. But yes I’ve noticed parrying has been a lot easier than in BOTW.

It's a shame Like-Like stones don't do that, but I guess it puts them in "dedicated elixir fodder" territory, since Chu Chu jelly is no longer in that slot.

if your weapon about to break just throw at the enemy. it gives knockback and some damage on it :) and use fuse when you fight too or rewinding to create traps :)

tip: if you have silver lynel weapons with 2x damage boosts (eg: knights weapon while your on 1 heart) do not do this, just go to death mountain and repair it

​@@eraoferased9397 If it's a decayed weapon, and you have plenty of silver lynel drops, I'd do it anyway. You have to break decayed weapons to get them to spawn with the shadow statues/figures in the depths anyway, with exception for Traveler's set weapons. Royal Guard weapons spawn consistently in a safe area of Hyrule Castle, and Knight's weapons are common enough by the time you're fighting silver lynels.

"Some" damage is such an understatement, you get x2 from the "last hit" and I believe x2 from throwing as well. It's certainly nothing to sneeze at even if it's only one x2 multiplier.

Basic question, but sometimes when I knock down enemies they ragdoll pretty far away. Do you just run as fast as possible to get to them and hit again? Is there a faster way (ability? Combo?) to get to them before they get back up? Thanks!

Switch to a long range spear-spear or shoot an ice arrow to extend your time. I do the latter and just waltz over to them and give them a jump whack.

You can parry with any shield it allows you to block -nearly- all attacks without losing durability Back in breath of the wild, i was so good at parrying that i would run around with 3 hearts and a single pot lid Better numbers help with staggering enemies and stuff but if you're just looking to live that doesn't matter too much

The number on the shield is how strong the staggering resistance is when you get hit on a shield So you'll be locked into shorter animation when you get hit the better the number is And higher number increases the chance of knocking a weapon out of hand when you parry

Arrows are really easy to come by. As you travel just break every barrel and crate you see. After an hour or two of doing that you’ll have 200+ arrows.

That's because the heat will knock you down from full health therefore losing OSP
