Trailbound co Great video. I’m just getting into trail riding with my young son. I see you said that more detail about your kit would be left in the links. It would be good to know why you chose these items also get with what they are. Thanks again. KK Michigan

I'd love to see a full review of how you utilize gaia's feature because I use and I think I'm missing some of the finer points. Also, you should look into/consider the agawa canyon folding bow saws. probably similar weight to what you're carrying already but I'm telllin' ya it's one of the best saws I've used. folding or otherwise.
@TrailBoundco
@TrailBoundco 5 жыл бұрын
yeah I really need to do a Gaia video just never think about doing it. heard other guys talk about that saw, might have to try it out but in my eyes it just looks more complicated/slower/more limited than the silky big boy. have you tried this saw?

Spark plugs and plug wrench. 1st thing I pack in my 2 stroke. Tp 2nd.For my pack i use a Camelback mule. Its 20 years old. Love it to death. I put my sandwich and snacks in the pocket with my water bladder so the cool water keeps things fresh. Trail saw for sure. Fox 40 whistle ( can be heard for a long way, if your hurt down off the trail or something crazy). 3 way socket driver 8mm 10mm 12mm. Folding allan wrench with flat tip n star screw driver head. My snowboarding pocket screwdriver (lifesaver) and a 26 mountain bike tube cuz I always forget to take it out. Works great around the lower triple clamp for pulling or towing bikes out also. And can't forget 70oz of water.

Another killer video buddy! I love those pouches you offer, I need to pick me up those! How about getting into more detail of what's inside of the pouches as in exact tools and items you find are needed for the type of riding trips you are going on.

Love the Gaia app! Good stuff dude! I used to pack so much crap to cover myself and buddies, but that looks like a good all around kit that doesn't include the kitchen sink.
@TrailBoundco

haha yeah I've tried to keep it pretty dialed in not overboard in the parts department (for instance I carry hose clamps instead of levers/shifters/brake pedals) but try to have what I need if we get screwed and have to go into survival mode or hike out in the dark haha

Really liked this video, cool to do informative vlogs too. In my pack I carry a set of plastic clutch and brake levers, a loud whistle, spark plug, TP, a flint and striker besides a lighter, couple of ounces of 2 stroke oil, thermal space blanket, ibuprofen. Yeah if I could the kitchen sink LOL...
@TrailBoundco
@TrailBoundco 5 жыл бұрын
Awesome good to hear and thanks for sharing what you carry, adding in a space blanket and ibuprofen has been on my list (borrow vitamin IB from a friend a few times). flint striker would be smart, I was thinking some waterproof matches to add with the lighter. I recently put a whistle on the pack too pretty handy instead of yelling at friends haha

For starters I need one of those bolt bags. After watching the video, I ordered a trail saw. Need to research a chain tool and get a master link as well. Spare valve stem is good idea too, doesn’t weigh much. Been using Strava, gonna try Gaia next.

Cooper Small that does seem like a cool feature, how far does it track? We use walkies to figure out where each other is at but the range on those is pretty small in woods

Trailbound co yeah I mean the antenna on the gps it’s self is good for a few miles but it comes with an external antenna that extends the ranges to like 5miles I think

Do you have some kind of front fender support? I carry a tool kit up front and I feel like the fender flops all over the place. Great channel, really enjoying your content.
@TrailBoundco
@TrailBoundco 5 жыл бұрын
Backcountry thanks for the comment. What bike and year? These 17 front fenders are nice and stiff. I don’t run tools up front though I use our bolt in straps on the rear. The front fender is better for rain jacket and trail saw. We just started making a front number plate rack though that I’ve tested with tools on and it works great

Trailbound co I’m running a 2017 Husky FE350 and the tire will hit the end of the front fender several times during a ride. I’ll look into the rear mount for heavier stuff. Thanks for the reply.

daniel bernier haha for sure I think it’s good to be able to have the knowledge to do something with only a minimal set of tools like you’re saying. But when we go out we’re away from the truck for 8-10 hours with multiple people and end up fixing something every ride, might as well just be dialed and do it right
