Can you explain this to me? We learned in school that we use ( Can ) for the present ability and ( Could) for the past ability, then how can we use (Excuse me could you tell me how to get to the bus station?) In here we used could in present how?

‘Could’ is used here for politeness. Often we’ll use the conditional like this when we want to be polite. Hope that helps! 🤓
