Really appreciate the breadth of information on your channel. Your channel has been so helpful in cutting through the noise of 8 string content. I never expected how difficult it was going to be to find educational content geared toward truly learning the instrument.

Thank you so much. That means a lot! There is so much noise in general these days on the internet, I'm glad I can still have a small impact making it worth it to be on here. Thanks for the comment :)

Yeah, you can away with a lot of crazy harmonic stuff if you stick to triads, haha

Are we ignoring the ghost in the room at 1:47?! Haha Great content though, definitely subbing to this. Scoping all the videos now.

Haha, I noticed it while editing as was wondering who would be the first to catch it. The tape came undone on the lights. I also thought it was hilarious it did that when I said the word "up."

Hey, do you recommend I learn guitar on an 8 string if I know music theory and I ultimately want to play an 8 string? (All I need is to learn songs and muscle memory)

If you know what you want to do is ultimately play an 8-string, then I'd say go for it!

@eightmetalstrings I mean I know the articulations: chugs, palm mutes, bends pinch harmonics, pick scraps etc... Love the channel! I think it will be my main resource when learning to play, I ordered my 8 string. Wish me luck 🖤 Also one question (if I'm not bugging you) What would say are some 8 string specific skills I need to practice? (like muting the low strings)

@@AhmadKharrat-cq2rk Nice! Can't wait for it to arrive for you. Hopefully the channel has lots for you to work on to start your 8-string journey. In terms of what to work on, that choice usually depends a lot on the music you want to play, but I'm assuming you mean general techniques. Having control over the guitar's resonance is absolutely important on the 8-string, so yes, muting with both hands is a must (try strumming a 1-string funk rhythm while muting all the other strings, harder than it sounds!) Other than that, just getting used to the wider fretboard and learning how to move across it is important. String skipping, slow sweeping, and finger picking will all serve you well.
