CPVC pipes for potable water………….no thanks!!!

OK. Do you prefer lead? Most of my house is pex. Every material water pipes are made out of has toxins in them. Pick your poison. Thanks for the comment!

@ I’m a licensed plumber and what I was aiming at is how brittle CPVC pipe gets as it ages. I repair them all the time.

@DzenanA-m6h Ah, ok. I haven't seen that yet. I assume you've been replacing with with PEX?

@@HowIDoThingsDIY most of the time I replace them with PEX. Once in a while I run into customers who specifically want copper and some who insist on keeping CPVC pipe. Initially I didn’t have an opinion on CPVC pipe use for potable water, but after seeing how brittle they get as time goes on and water damage they cause after they break I think they shouldn’t be used for potable water systems.

@DzenanA-m6h Interesting. Thanks for the info. For whatever reason, the first 20' or so of my house was plumbed with CPVP.
