Here are a few of the materials you might find in a Montessori infant environment at birth and the few months following. They include the topponcino (a soft mattress pad), a black and white mobile, black and white picture cards, and various grasping materials.
This is not an all inclusive list. There are many more materials you can offer your baby than what are pictured here. For example, many people also introduce treasure baskets filled with baby-safe household items (starting around 4 months).
Aside from the topponcino, these are the materials that are typically displayed on a shelf in the infant's room.
Hope you enjoy the video.

I have a 7 month old who still enjoys the beads and rattle. (Never any interest in the interlocking discs)

Hello! I love your videos and I was wondering if you are AMI trained in assistance to infancy? I am primary trained but have two coworkers who are A to I trained. I was thinking of sharing your channel with parents at my school and would love to let them know how you’ve learned all about Montessori for babies! :)

Thanks for your comment and sorry for the delayed response. No, I am unfortunately not AMI (or AMS) trained :-( and have been nothing but a casual follower of the Montessori Method and Assistance to Infancy since being introduced to the them in my Education (B.S.) program 10 years ago. I actually changed courses and went back for M.S. in Natural Resources & Environment and currently work in the environmental field; this video series is something I casually started during my 2-year career break as a hobby! If you want to show the videos, consider framing them as non-authoritative demonstrations of the method by a casual follower (wordy, I know!) but open to discussion about what content is in line with A to I (e.g., the materials), and what is not (e.g., the Boppy pillow since it restricts free movement). If you ever want to get in touch, let me know - sorry I am not a more legitimate source, but thanks again for your feedback!

P.S. You might want to check out the Montessori Video Library (which I am not associated with) -- I think there is a cost to join but may contain more legit videos you can use for training: www.montessorilibrary.com/ AMS also has a good video series on Vimeo: vimeo.com/user22229684 Hope these help.

Fam Bless I got the wooden toys/materials from Heirloom Toys on Etsy. (Generally, Etsy is a great place to go for all types of Montessori baby materials.) I made the topponcinno myself (there are patterns online) but those, too, can be found on Etsy. If you have a sewing machine, it's much more cost-effective to DIY. If you want some links, let me know.

Sure! Here's the link (sorry, the store is called "HeirloomKidsUSA"): www.etsy.com/listing/236285711/montessori-baby-set-of-6-toys-montessori?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=montessori%20baby%20toys&ref=sr_gallery-1-2 They shipped really fast, and they're really well-made. Well worth the money, IMO.

The Michael Olaf store is *the* place to get many Montessori materials for children 0-7 years, but I heard they're closing soon (you might have to look into that). Here are some of their items for the first year of life, including the topponcinno (which I highly recommend -- you can also find it on etsy): michaelolaf.com/store/firstyearproducts.html
