I am binge-watching your whole channel, I love it. SNES was my first system I had as a child, and now I've discovered the emulators on my phone and my PC. Having mostly stuck with the games on your list (Mario, TNMT, Donkey Kong, etc) when I had the original SNES, I am only now discovering the RPG games thanks to you and I am so hooked! Makes me sad to remember the day my mom throw the SNES out the window and I saw it breaking into bits on the pavement because she thought I was playing games too much. The SNES was a video game renaissance. Before the SNES, Video games were squares on a TV screen & music was all beeps & boops. I just happened to stumple across your page by accident, while checking out some other game reviews, but I must say, I really like your style and thw way you present your videos and yourself. I'll definitely be a subscriber and consistent viewer, and look forward to what seeing what you put out next. Just a suggestion, but I would love to see a video collection just like this video here, but more in depth like top 25 rpg's or top sports as individual videos, instead of just throwing them all into a 5 minute video. I grew up playing this system, and now that we I'm older and am able to play whatever I want, either by buying games or by emulators, I find myself searching for reviews of games I may not have known about, or wasnt able to play as a child. I love the fact that we both feel the same way about Chrono Trigger. I finished watching your review about it and that is what inspired me to write this comment, or letter at this point, (it's getting a little long lol) so I would really be intrigued to see what your favorites were based upon the different genres. You should make another video in this series, essential games from every genre, but pick games that are a little more obscure/unknown than the games here. Theres nothing wrong with your list of course, the games chosen are just very known and very typical for being on a SNES "best of" list. Ive watched a lot of your videos on the SNES and you play so many awesome and obscure games Ive never heard of, especially the JP only releases, that it would be really cool to see what your perspective on a list of "essential" games is now. Keep making videos! SNES WILL NEVER DIE!

Another video featuring your awesome dog. That alone makes this video a winner. Making a SNES essentials list I think would be a very difficult task. Still, you didn't do too bad here. It's a pretty dang good list overall.

When you mentioned people who weren't around for the SNES's original release, I technically qualify. I was born in 89' and by the time I was old enough to know what I wanted for games, it was pretty much going to be the 5th generation of games and the playstation was coming out soon. It was kind of interesting to be a part of that age group when it comes to games because we were into mobile gaming with the Gameboy and were pretty much the target demographic for pokemon. I had a PC growing up and my gaming memories are tied to Westwood Studios (Command & Conquer, C&C Red Alert, Dune 2000). Had I known about the SNES growing up, I probably wouldn't have ever gone outside, so maybe it was a blessing in diguise. lol.
@stratogustav7 жыл бұрын
I think Nintendo definitely checked your list for the SNES Classic because you really nailed it. You are only missing F-Zero, Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Super Punch-Out!!, and Kirby Super Star, that are beloved fan favorites. They also added EarthBound and Star Fox 2 that fit perfectly as well. The only issue is no Chrono Trigger, I would had swapped Dream Course for that one, Dream Course is fine, byt it is only a golf game. On top of that I still consider ActRaiser, Breath Of Fire, and Killer Instinct to be essential. Space Megaforce deserves the spot over U.N. Squadron, but Axelay and Gradius III are definitely classics. I even like less popular ones such as D-Force, Imperium, and Raiden Trad. Strike Gunner S.T.G. wasn't bad either just on the tough side. The Mortal Kombat games were indeed essential too, it is just that the arcade versions were far superior, and the same can ve said about the Final Fight games. The SNES Classic got me here and I'm already a fan of your work. You have many cool videos.
@chrispacheco85905 жыл бұрын

Great list ! I agree with all of it, however I would just add one game to it, Earthbound. I find it's a definitive "SNES experience" game people need to discover. Super Mario RPG is a great game, but I believe people should play Earthbound before that one.

Funny how many of those games were early in the SNES life. And they’re still amazing today

Agree completely. Would also highly recommend Kirby's Super Star

Great video. Im really digging your channel. My friend is getting into collecting for the SNES. This video will be a big help for him. My generic answer when people ask me were they should start is Super Mario World,Super Metroid, and Zelda A Link to the Past. I tell them that it will cost them just north of $100,shows off alot of what the system can do, and if for some reason you dont like the games (the only reason i think of for that is they dont like video games) the resale is very good on those titles.

For us viewers in the UK, we don't need to bother with that baseball game since we don't consider rounders in pyjamas a worthy national sport. And I'd definitely add Super Aleste (Space Megaforce in the US) to the shoot-em-up list. Great vids though, mate, keep 'em coming in!
