Hey Nathan....thank you for the videos you've been posting. I like the sounds you're making cos I think it's more experimental than the boom bap that's everywhere on KZbin. Love the vibe man! 😸😸😸

Thanks Brian, really appreciate you watching! The KO2 is awesome...have you ever owned a sampler before? I don't have much experience with them so maybe that's why I like it so much?

Good video for just starting out. Not that I'm an expert, but if I could give any advice it would be to focus on making 'good' content and not just content. Way too many people trying to meet specific upload goals every week, but I don't think you get long term subscribers that way. Also, I would say work on a short intro of some sort that's in every video, but not too long. Cool flashy intros are great to watch once, but then 90% of viewers skip over them after that.

Thanks for taking the time to check out my video and for the thoughtful comment. If there is one thing that I’ve learned the past week it’s that creators make this work look so so easy and that I have many things to learn. Thank you!

Good stuff. Thanks for the tips. Im just starting out on my EP-133 KO2 myself. When you switched parts in making the beat, did you hit commit and then it switched so you could add to it? You have a new sub.
@HiImNathan

Hey Terry, appreciate you watching and leaving a comment. I realized this week I need to make another video about the EP133 workflow, esp related to Scenes. Commit copies what you have and immediately makes a new scene with that info. I always thought Commit was like “Save”, but it’s literally how you add scenes. So in the video when I’m switching parts I’m changing from existing scenes by hitting Main and +\-

@@HiImNathan Oh, so that's how you switch it after it's made. Got it. Yeah, it's a bit confusing in the beginning with the commit function. I haven't found a song mode that plays it all the way through. Maybe they will add that later (hopefully)
@HiImNathan

Yeah no song mode for now, but many people are hoping it happens with a firmware update. For now, think of it as a performance device and switch between scenes to get your song structure. Weird for sure!

So basically great workflow aside you get only up to 4 patterns in a project and 99 ways (scenes) to vary those parts by mostly fading parts in and out? So it's made to keep playing the same pattern over and over and just vary it? I mean creating chained patterns verse, per chorus, chorus not possible right?
@HiImNathan
@HiImNathan 4 ай бұрын
All great questions. It definitely gets confusing…In this video I didn’t even get into what TE calls patterns but I do discuss it in my newest video. Inside of your project you get scenes (up to 99 by hitting Shift/Commit and +\-), and patterns (up to 99 by hitting Main/A or B or C or D and +\-). The rest of the workflow is up to you. Yes most people are using the sampler to keep the same beat or pattern going throughout but you don’t have to use it like that. You could make lots of variation by creating your first scene then hitting Shift/Commit to create a new scene which makes an exact copy of scene 1. Then in scene two delete your patterns Erase/hold group A, B, C, D and then make all new beats in that scene and switch between them by hitting main +\- .
