No, Aleph (א) and Ayin (ע) are not interchangeable. They are distinct letters with different sounds and uses in Hebrew. Aleph is usually silent or carries a vowel sound, while Ayin has a guttural sound in traditional pronunciation. Mixing them up can change the meaning of words. I know that with today's pronunciation they sound almost the same, but they are different.
