He blew our mind with Edvard Grieg and the Peer Gynt and the monumental influences coming out of Scandinavia then, he was the best. 1991-ben Szaddam Husszein hadserege felgyújtotta Kuvait olajmezőit A katasztrófa következményeiről, a pusztulásról, a tűzoltók és olajipari szakemberek heroikus munkájáról, a nagyszerű Werner Herzog filmet (Lessons of Darkness) forgatott, kevés szöveggel, és csodálatos zenékkel. A film első tételének (Ein Haupstadt) aláfestéseként szól az "Ase halála". Tökéletesen kifejezi a veszteséget, a gyászt, ugyanakkor magasztos, felemelő érzést is nyújt, a továbblépés reményét.

The Morning Mood was a favorite of mine from Elmer Fudd on the hunt, if memory serves. All the Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies used classical music and I've loved it all since I was 6 or 7 years old.

Yes I believe you are right.. when I was in Elementary school, they had a Summer program to help kids learn about Orchestra music. We took the bus downtown and listened to the Flight of the Bumble Bee and other pieces I don't remember. Now that I'm retired, I am rediscovering Classical music. .

My dad used to say to me in a whisper 'Greig' like he was letting me in on a well kept secret lol. It's like passing on a sacred treasure to a child imho

Once upon a time , this music was played on children’s cartoons, Saturday mornings. So sad it isn’t anymore.

This reminds me of the opening scenes in Looney Tunes cartoons. In fact my first exposure to classical music was Bugs Bunny conducting an orchestra and another one conducting an opera singer singing Figueroa. Every time I hear one of these pieces it takes me back to watching cartoons on Saturday morning eating rice crispies with my little brother and putting as much sugar on before anyone else woke up.
