There is no such thing as too big to rig. Keep an eye out on your polling places. Pictures and video of anyone going in after voting hours. Get faces and license plates if possible. American can't survive 4 years of the cackling c**t.

Remember if you lift with a pully by pulling down on the other side the load on the pully is double the weight of the load.

FYI, unless you modify it, I would be VERY careful with the lower die retention "design". Sharp 90"s and threaded fasteners in a high shock / vibration environment. I've heard of several situations where dies left the machine and could have severely harmed the operator.
@johnmcmunn3827Ай бұрын
I agree with your observations ... The Die retention design is not a strong endorsement element. Hope all goes well for Cy.

Why are the top and bottom dies machined with dovetails but the powerhammer isn’t?
@Boosted98gsxАй бұрын
Because they are poorly designed. Fasteners... in a high shock, high vibration environment, holding what are supposed to be high-force anchoring parts?
@woody442Ай бұрын
2:04 It gets held in place with set screws. Edit: You can see one side is matching the dovetails.
@Boosted98gsxАй бұрын
@@woody442 And when the set screws vibrate loose? There's a reason why 2x dovetails and a tapered one-way driven key have been the mainstay method of anchoring dies in these machines since their inception.... This design is poor at best, and WILL vibrate loose, as seen here within the first few minutes of use. Let's not talk about that sharp 90° STRESS CONCENTRATION POINT on the "flange" that holds the retention fasteners... That will crack and break, and has been proven prone to do so already.
@woody442Ай бұрын
@Boosted98gsx I never claimed it was any better than the method you mentioned. Still that's how it works in this case and why the dovetail is only machined on one side of the base.

The polyrope confidance frightens me. It has hardly survived 20 years on the interior of radio comshels holding antennas vetical. We have also had an interviewee arrive wearing a polyrope belt; was equally unimpressed with its performance

Anyone else having a hard time wrapping their mind around the idea of a machine tool in Cy's shop that isn't 80+ years old and cast iron? Not that there's anything wrong with it, just seems like an anomoly.
