Cool model, interesting how Finn, as accomplished as he is, had to 'learn' how to differ his flying technique for a scale model, all part of the fun of this hobby 👍

My first EDF was the V2 Vampire, it flew so good I bought a kit version to soup up for faster flight. I hope that V3 has improved the joint between the wing and booms, that was the only flaw. It's a great looking jet.

Love this model, i thought that was a late 50s design but apparently they had it drawn already during WWII!

The Vampire's first flight was in 1943. Design started in '41.

I was given a well worn Durafly Vampire V1 that needed some repair. I removed the nose up to the intakes and fashioned from blue foam a new nose and modified the tail and converted it to a DeHavilland T 11 2 seat trainer.

The original had a CG that was well out making it very hard to fly if you didn't know about it. Nice to have a 12 blade fan in it not 5 blades.

And they still have the main landing gear retracting the wrong way. The Vampire along with the Venom had the main landing gear retract outwards towards the wing tips, not inwards. I have the original Durafly Vampire and I was disappointed to see they had got it wrong, then, and still have now. If they do a version 4, I certainly hope the redo the main landing gear correctly and incorporate flaps as well, as it really needs flaps. R
