Great video and talk about bringing back childhood memories! My best friend had a Smith Super Special with an OS 32 (helicopter engine...I think) w/ mousse can muffler and a JR-X347 computer radio. We were in the 5th grade (1992/1993) at the time and he flew the h#ll out of that plane.

I have never seen that Funfly competition before, it looks like a lot of fun. Having to touch down in those squares 3 times and then do about 10 seconds of aerobatics and then touching down again a couple more times and then land it. Do you have any specs on those planes? Because I want one of those planes, They look like a lot of fun.

I still have my old parc-amber FU2, it needs some tlc and a motor of some sort to fly again. great model, tight looping touch and goes are great fun!

These were really big in the early 90's, there were a number of good airplanes. I had one called a Stickit from airflair. They are hard on servo's due to large control surfaces.

Nah, the models are flown relatively close to the pilots so they are protecting the most vulnerable and important part of the body in case they get hit. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
