I used to play a lefty who hit a wicked slice serve to the ad court, i.e. wide to my backhand. So, I went out of my way to learn a wide slice serve to the deuce court. It made for interesting matches.

Chris Evert had the solution to left-handers. She learned a two-handed backhand so it was better than her forehand. That made lefties hit to the other side.

Yeah, Djokovich developed his backhand, early on he struggled against Nadal, but now, Nadal struggles against Nole's Backhand and Forehand.

You are totally right. We; lefty always tend to make right-handed player move closer and closer to his backhand side. And when right-handed player desperately to defend that backhand side, and move further to his backhand side. There will be a strong shot to his forehand side. To counter that pattern, right-handed will try to hit down to line on lefty backhand. And 90% of the time, lefty will shot back to your back-hand side. There will be down to line exchange on the backhand side for a while. So, for right-handed player, be ready for backhand battle when you face lefty. And having better backhand mean advantage over lefty. If you want to fix your crappy backhand, you can check the video in this channel. It will help you much to face lefty

In order to switch the pattern against them, you have to either slice down the line, or hit a topspin backhand with good height and margin down the line. Then just keep the pattern against them, if they move too much to their backhand side, then hit an aggressive forehand down the line.

I’ve only recently started to see and understand why you shouldn’t go down the line just because it’s a little open! But, as a lefty, it is in my best interest to try to switch up the pattern( when cross court deuce). I still struggle to do this on slice serves to my backhand

Actually I kind feel the hardest thing to beat on lefties is when they serve and volley on the advantage side The serve always is directed out of the court

I played a guy who serves with his left hand (but strangely plays with his right). The side spin was bugging me for a set and a half. So many off-centre hits because my muscle memory is guiding my racquet expecting the opposite side spin.

Usually, when a lefty plays me at my backhand I play back with topspin to his backend repeatedly. Sometimes when I have a short ball then I attack it the other way. sometimes it works sometimes I have to play back to his forehand and I lose :(

Hydration is key, hydrate all day long. Make sure you eating right food is fuel not for pleasure. Only 4 days out of the year are going to be perfect so even when your feeling off you still need to find a way to play your best

I had the chance to play against quite a lot of lefties, one thing I saw could work if I couldn't reverse the pattern and was getting crushed on my backhand was to go with drop shots, make the lefty go to the net, even tho' I might do errors, if you cannot reverse the pattern that could be a way in my opinion to break it at least

Anytime I try to approach my left handed hitting partner I need to go crosscourt cause his forehand is just too good on a passing shot. Then I need to make sure I can get into a good enough position against his backhand passing shot.

Best solution for right-handers.....practice your down the line backhand from the ad corner and your inside out backhand from the deuce side. Second best solution.....practice your run-around forehand down the line shot from the ad corner, and your run-around cross-court forehand from the deuce side. Once you get good at those strokes, keep them in your back pocket until you play a lefty, and then take them out and use them mercilessly.

Absolutely as a lefty. We are used to the righty spin. Playing a lefty is always unusual if you are not used to thier opposite spin.

Yes. They on the other hand do not pay attention too much on this. I took group classes and one guy once noticed I was left handed months later we first played against. That is the 1st thing I notice, where the fh and bh of the other player are.

Years ago one of the local high school's girls teams would have me come serve (lefthanded) to their #1 singles player. The top high school girl in the area was left handed and the team didn't have a lefty with an effective serve. It was fun.

Had 5 out of 19 players in my high school team be lefty. The team had lots of easy wins with doubles matches Lefty Fh to my backhand Low bouncing slice Lefty pops it up Step up and rip backhand down the line, would usually miss though. After 3 years of lots of play time with lefty tennis player my backhand is WAY stronger than my forehand .
