Worship has been misunderstood as emotionalism. Just sing the song and let the people enjoy it. I think allot of backing singers need to hear that. Most churches are run by imposing uptight and tense people and it can negatively impact the choir. It can make people very braced and not at ease. Emotionalism and tenseness is not one of the 9 fruits of character. Most artists need to discern skill and character before a title. Somebody thats labeled as a 'worldly' backing singer can have more character and skill than a choir member. Just because of the peace and service full attitude they have to deliver a song. So choose wisely the people you work with. Even guys like zacardi cortez have been downplayed working with certain people because of immaturity, politics and carnality, crabs in the bucket mentality in many unsavory, unhealthy and toxic environments.
