Ashdon has many nice little walks within itself. Got a pretty residential Buddhist centre as well. Marpa house.

strangely that story about the skin on the church door.. a similar story relates to st Mary's church in Benfleet Essex which is also 1000 years old as the battle of Benfleet took place there and a long boat was found when they dug the ground for the station platform in the 1850s
