Ballet slippers was my go-to for years and I’ve bought many bottles of it over time, but I got tired of how patchy it looked and how I felt like I needed 3-4 coats for it to look even. The other colours apply much nicer.

Sundays work so much better than Saturdays for the live shows in my world. Sundays are when I'm winding down and giving myself some self care before the onslaught of the week ahead. That's my vote anyway. Also, I'd love more info on the Essie treatment polishes and all the colors offered. From what I understand, the Queen does indeed only wear Essie Ballet Slippers!

I love to wear some mix of cool-grey-stone colours of Essie on my nails: Chinchilly on one nail, Urban Jungle on two nails and Take It Outside on two nails. Best mani for spring and autumn! It looks like an ombre a little bit ;) I had Ballet Slippers in my collection. Nice colour, but not so good application. Seems to be streaky, not only on ridgy nails... For french or just for natural look I prefer Essence Colour & Go - Sweet As Candy - this is the best sheer, milky pink I've ever use! Perfect application. Unfortunatly polishes don't stay too long on my nails...

They are all nail polishes. Essie just called it gel but it’s not. They wear pretty much the same. The Gel Couture might wear a bit longer. Not a big difference :)

Bordeaux, Chinchilly and Bikini So Teeny are the winners for me. Mint Candy Apple is pretty, but how poorly it plays with ridged nails means that my diabetic disaster nails would make it frustrating to deal with. I've been holding off on Ballet Slippers, and wasn't sure why. After seeing this, and some other live swatches of it, it fell many, many slots down on my To Buy list. Too many other companies have better-performing pale pinks. May we expect a CND Vinylux top seller list? That one would interest me!

Your Mint Candy Apple looks gorgeous!!! But for some reason, the European one pulls way more blue. I read a blog post that mentioned an "old" version which is the bluer version that was a manifacturing error which was then corrected to the "new" version which is the one that pulls more green like in this video. But for some reason we still just have that blue one in Europe which is a shame because I much prefer the greener version! 💅😭

I was actually looking up essie polishes just then other day bc I'm on a mission to find 'the perfect' red polish and I ran across an article talking about essies best selling red polish but its not the 1 in this video. For the life of me I cant remember the name but for some unknown reason they discontinued it and bringing it back this year but only for a few months. It was a red similar to the colors feeling poppy, fifth avenue etc. I'm going to see if I can find it again and if I do I will edit this post.

Indeed, here in Europe, we have the bluer version. In the US the "old" version (the bluer one) was a manufacturing error and was corrected to the "new" greener version that it was always meant to be...but sadly in Europe, we have yet to get that memo! 💅😭
