@@PolishLabRat no beyond polish canada isn't like beyond polish, they seem to send collection from their own local factory or supplier, the canadian version only gets canadian release versions. This is happened with a lot of collections lately. I've commented on your videos similarly and you always tell me to check beyond polish lol...

LOL "bass" is pronounced differently depending on the meaning. Not all native speakers know that. I remember one American (typical!) correcting me * rolls eyes * when I was talking about bass the fish, and he thought it should be pronounced the same as bass the voice. And that was an English teacher. Ugh. Anyway, beautiful collection, I love the shimmers! Thank you for the comparisons!

Oh man, talk about adding to the confusion! hahaha Coming from Spanish where everything is pronounced the same 100% of the time, this was a challenge for sure, same as the vowels having 16 ways to combine pronunciation. So yeah, I really don't care if I pronounce something wrong lmaoooo I take the advice when people correct me, and then I move on hahaha

Sometimes I really struggle with a brand's description of their colors vs. what my eye sees. Yellow undertones? I can't grasp it! I get warm vs cool undertones, though. Maybe it's best to make up my own mind about different shades instead of trying to reconcile some marketer's blurb.

haha it took me a bit to "get that" as well, but i think whenever they say warm and yellow undertones, tends to be similar, and then the "medium tone" i learned that is "not too light not too dark" haha

Holy crap that Zoya is SHEER! Zoya used to be my favorite formula (10 years ago 🤣) but Essie and Orly are definitely the best of the best now! Also, I initially passed on High Voltage Vinyl but I think im going back for it now. Great swatches and comparisons!

Thanks! So yeah, that Zoya is sheer but Zoya creams are GORGEOUS and amazingly opaque (I'll have a review of the Zoya Rose Palette up soon), but yeah def orly and essie are kicking ass too. It's so hard for me to pick a "favorite brand" nowadays because they are all stepping up their game soooo much!

Essie is more mauve, the other is more of a brown/beige. They are not dupes and feel very diff. If you have me on IG, dm me and i'll show u bottle shots. If you don't have IG, I recommend you take screenshots of both swatch photos and place them next to each other (they are under the same lighting so it should be close enough).

[two comments because I'm a nerd and maybe it helps engagement] Re: that word bass. Spelling in English is a hot mess...usually the answer is to do with the word coming into English from a different language, like there's a whole set of spelling rules for Germanic words vs. Latin words or French words. Bass the fish is Germanic and bass the deep sound is Italian......Don't sweat it, your English is awesome!
