I'm from America, and have never seen it personally, yet the from the moment I first heard about it, the Stretford Essoldo has captivated my mind. Such beautiful architecture and such rich history. It's a horrible shame to see it in disrepair for so long. If the building is ever put to use again, I will certainly consider flying out to see it, though I don't imagine it ever will at this rate.

Drove past it once again today. Looks like an absolute eye sore. Love the fascinating history of the place, but now totally passed it's time. Needs pulling down and replacing with things that area needs, instead of clinging on to ghosts of the past.

Such an amazing building, that i had the pleasure to work in, in it's Top Rank days, so many characters, both customers and staff...RIP to my colleagues that have passed over...Michael the caller...Rita.. Clara (the Italian stallion) Paul "Batman" Battersby....Pat Keogh...And Colin Cooper the barman. So many great nights, such happy times, with a great bunch of lads and lasses.😊

Thank you so much for this, my maternal Gran worked there. I have wondered what it was like inside.. Beautiful Art Deco building and quite rare I imagine? I wish it could be listed and used for Community activities.

Makes me feel so sad - it was a great cinema and went there many many times from being very young in 1945 until I left Stretford in 1965 . It was a classy place

The entrance area reminds me of the old Odeon in Manchester (at St Peter's Square). Thanks for sharing!

This place is on every urban explorers list to get in but the place it like fort knox thankfully I can only think the place still looks like it did in 1995 probably with a bit of paper n paint peeling off the walls but looking at the old projector room that had been empty for a good 13 years even back then it still looked like the projectors had been removed the day before Even in 1995 the roof looked well looked after and that's probably gone in its favour over the years Would love to see what this place looks like today

Would love to use some of this footage in an indie music vid I’ll be putting together. Would this be possible?

I always imagined I could live in there, but it's like a featureless husk. The owners are just squatting on it waiting for it's value to be realised I guess. Well it's being CPO'D now so they've skit that idea.
