I love your charts it makes it so easy to follow and how you break it down into easy to understand chunks lol. I’ve attempted to learn Spanish a few times in my life and had a problem grasping it but I’m finding your method so easy to follow. Each lesson builds so logically from the last. We are always told there is a window in which to learn a language and if you don’t learn when you are young, you’ve missed it. It becomes much harder. I’m retired and want to learn to keep my mind occupied and sharp plus I am looking to retire to Spain. So far these lessons make so much sense to me. Fingers crossed it’s not too late to learn.

The correct sentence is "Eres un maestro fantástico". Remember the noun goes before the adjective. And you don't need to use "tú" because it's included in "eres". Anyway your sentence can be understood by any spanish speaker, and that's the important. We don't really mind if it's not perfect. We are glad to know people who wants to speak spanish

I love studying Spanish grammar conjugations and sentence forming; it gives me "The Spanish High". What is your opinion on the "Flash Card Strategy" for learning new words. I initially used it for learning important verbs and nouns but it seems that when you study them in bulk it becomes temporary in memory.

Hey Wendell. The honest truth about flash cards is that they are helpful for doing initial memorization, but they don't help with long-lasting learning. Memorization is low-level cognitive functioning. The higher level functioning comes through analysis, synthesis and more complex processes. Using the words in conversation allows more higher-level functioning and that is what causes us to learn words, verbs and concepts in a way that is long-lasting. I hope this helps.

I use digital flashcards (with anki app) to practise listening comprehension. Spanish audio snippets on the front & Spanish text on the back. It has improved my comprehension dramatically. My point being: flashcards aren't just to memorize boring lists of vocabulary or verbs or nouns. You can be creative, especially with digital flashcards, & they can be effective to reinforce what you've already learnt. Plus there are plenty of pre-made digital flashcard decks available online. I love anki!

That is a safe rule to go by, just be aware that there are a very few circumstances that will use estar, that are not how you feel or where you are. But, this rule is a great starting point.

I've taken multiple Spanish classes and the teachers always get us all confused when it comes to learning these parts. Currently, I'm in the middle of learning the difference between SER and ESTAR, and our teacher didn't clarify the difference. I've been watching The Language Tutor and it helps tremendously! Danny makes it so easy!! I use his videos to supplement with my classes and even shared his videos with my classmates who are so grateful for these videos. I am enjoying your lessons. And they are helping me greatly. For American speakers your clarity of speech, pace and pronunciation are more helpful than others. My only input( not complaint) would be when you give you example sentences in english I would find it helpful at my spanish comprehension level to hear them repeated at least once in spanish. As most beginners I still struggle with sentence structure. While I have a good vocabulary in spanish it would have helped me to hear estar in spoken espanol. In all, your lessons are helping me correct years of bad grammar and half understood lessons. The vocabulary is easy for me it's the putting of a sentance together to express the thought in spanish. Hola profesor, I have a question I’ll try write it in Spanish I wish you answer me. Usamos “ESTR” para expresar lo que estamos sintiendo, pero en esta frase usamos “SER” (Quiero ser feliz). Por qué?

Great question! In this particular example, it implies "I want to be a happy person" describing the very characteristics of that person. I've debated removing this example because it can be confusing. If I'm describing who I am as a person, my very characteristics, I can use ser, but if I'm talking about how I feel (temporarily) it would be estar. I hope that helps.
