Estate [Erlend Øye/João Gilberto] // cover by Jo

Hello everyone :)
I hope you're doing well. This time I'm bringing something different to the channel, and I've been wanting to do it for quite some time now. Estate is an italian song that I discovered through Erlend Øye, an artist that I love sooo so much I can't even describe it. But starting with the song: it's one of those that has been through a lot of different reinterpretations from a lot of artists, so pardon me if I don't get its origins quite right. I'm pretty sure it was originally performed by Bruno Matino (I don't know much about him nor do I know the original song too well, that's why I don't refer him in the title), and then there are at least two other versions (the ones that I know), performed by João Gilberto, a brazilian artist who is pretty much a genious of the music feel, I dare say, and then Erlend Øye, a norwegian artist whose work brings me infinite joy. So my inspiration to make this cover was of course Erlend, and only after I started learning the song did I find the other two versions (the reason why there are only two artists in the title is because their versions are the ones I really know).

Now, about the video! I wanted to connect a bit of the theme of the song with it, and living in a place that is characterized by the summer season,that wasn't hard to do. I had introduced Alentejo to you before, and here it is again, this time with a slightly different perspective. This song is about summer love and its broken hearts, expressed by a beautiful melody, making it even more bittersweet. It's a beautiful and (very) relatable piece, and I really felt it was the perfect fit.
