Great idea about taking some large shopping bags. I usually (within minutes) find a couple of things so I ask “May I start a pile?” Added advantage, it’s usually close to the checkout line and they keep an eye on it. Since I’ve been collecting from my early twenties I often think one day this will be my house with people going through and saying ‘she collected that?’

I always pick up seasonal/holiday pieces year round, especially Christmas. I don't really decorate for holidays except Christmas, but i do add pieces in my everyday decor for Easter, July 4th & Thanksgiving. I want to find a cabinet so i can do a cabinet of curiosities! I have butter molds on my long hunt/wish list, the small g large ones! I've only ever found A couple & they were wayyy too pricey😬 Really love the larger round one! You can take the newer wood utensils & soak them in hot tea, or you could use coffee too.. It stains them to look old. And if you take A knife or fork, or whatever, & make little scratches on them they look even older when you stain them. That rolling pin is really neat! I love anything old & made of wood.. Large or small! The Good Will back where i lived in Tennessee didn't have the bagged items, they basically only had clothes &a few shelves in the back with literal junk on them🫤 I only ever why in there twice. But there's lots of Good Will stores in & around the Tampa area so hopefully they'll have the bagged items! I see people get some really awesome things in those bags! Thanks for all the tips! I never went to an estate sale because when we lived in Tennessee we owned a large thrift store, basically the only one in our area besides one small one.. there were just lots of antique stores. We never shopped for the store.. People donated very regularly, any estate sale within the county or near by would bring anything not sold in to the store, house clean outs that our recovery home guys would do were always donated too.I went to house clean outs and barn & storage shed clean outs sometimes.. thats where i really found some amazing treasures! I was usually the one that went thru everything to weed out the junk. When I going thru things, when i found pieces i wanted, which i always found things, my husband would put money in if it was of any value. We also owned a men's recovery home that was non profit so the store helped to fund the home. All that to say that why i didn't go because things came to us🤷♀️ Maybe not the best pieces but I found lots & lots of treasures nevertheless😉😊 But now that we've moved I'm hoping to get to go to some estate sales! Ohhh girl we did so many house clean out that were hoarders.. it was crazy🤯 Unbelievable the things you'll find in a hoarders home.. and not always good things😬🫣 Again thanks for the great tips.. I'm excited to hopefully get to go to a few! You had a great haul & I enjoyed!😊

Loved your haul. If no one has already mentioned it, when you shared the wood butter molds, the first little one is actually a biscuit cutter, not a butter mold. Just a lil FYI.

👋🏻 Excellent tips. I go to Estate sales, but I always feel somber, almost guilty. To look around and realize within those walls is the sum total of the persons story. Not people of course. Recently I came across an E. sale and 4 Martha Washington bedspreads for $4. One fit my bed perfectly. Haven't tried the others yet. So hard to find spreads that work on todays high mattresses and cover pillows. You found some wonderful items. 😊

Kayla you found some wonderful things. I especially love the Nun carolers and the other set too. The butter molds are always a good find. Penny’s tablecloth is beautiful too. Wonderful tips for estate sales. Another thing to check for is whether the estate sale is giving out entrance numbers hours before the sale starts. READ THEIR AD CLOSELY. We went to one early and no one was there and we thought wow we’re going to be first but no😒. When it was time for the sale to start people came out of nowhere with their numbers in hand and when the door opened we had to sign up and of course we were last.😅. Love and blessings ❤️❤️❤️

Excellent tips on estate sales. I've learned those tips myself through the years. Also, if credit cards are accepted as payment, sometimes they will charge you the credit card fee - usually just a few dollars. I loved the carolers too as well as the beautiful table cloth. I work for an estate sale company. Your tips are spot on! We've sold just about everything you can possibly think of. People definitely line up early, especially when there is a really unique item. When I was "just" a customer 2 of my all-time favorite purchases were 1-a 6 ft tall heavy, heavy, HEAVY wood nutcracker. I named him Chester. 2- a 1st edition 1879 salesman's sample Mark Twain's "Tramp Aboard". I'd love to hear your favorite estate sale purchase.

Loved the red, white and blue tablecloth❤ Another thought to consider esp if an estate company is not doing the sale, be mindful that typically a family having this sale, may have recently lost their loved one or they moved to memory care unit, etc. be respectful of their experiences and their loved ones items. It can be hard to watch all your parents things going out the door for example. This is also why I would recommend an estate company. Even if they just come in and buy what's left after family has gone thru. Also a recent sale I went to run by a company, I could tell they knew what they had and priced accordingly. I thought if they'd just price a little lower than an antique store, more sales might happen for the family. I know I would have bought more items if just a bit better prices.❤

I’d like to also add a few things to the estate sale etiquette rules or however people want to call it. Always check to see if they have special parking instructions. Do not block the driveway that is going to be used to load large pieces on. Lastly be mindful of there yard. For instance if you’re there early waiting in line, don’t leave water bottles, wrappers etc for someone else to clean up. Loved your haul! Take care.❤

Going to add, please be aware of mailboxes, if you block a mailbox the mail carrier will skip that box. That is not fair for the homeowner.

Oh yes! Good advice! I always go as close to the end as I can when it’s 75% off or fill a bag for $5- I have found really great stuff that way. And it’s easier to donate it to the thrift store if you don’t really like it because you only paid a small amount for it. And I love the tablecloth it’s perfect!

You got some adorable things at this estate sale, but although I really loved every piece you got, but y favorite is the butter molds. I live in West Texas and I have never found any butter pats or butter molds at any estate sale, garage sale, antique shop, or thrift shop anywhere around here, and they are 2 things I really do want to find. I love when Aunt Penny shows hers. It's so amazing to see her collection of the various old butter molds. I never realized until you showed the ones you got that they had been in SO many different sizes- from really small to quite large.. .Thanks for sharing your haul with us, You really did get some really neat things!

*You found fabulous items, Kayla❣️ LOVE THEM ALL‼️🥳💥* *Some tips for you; take a little notebook about the size of your palm, and as you load your bag, write down the name of the item (like book, game, butter mold, carolers, salt & pepper set) and next to it write the price. Then, before you take your goodies to the cashier, add them up: Number of items and Total Price. That way, you make sure YOUR TOTAL matches the CASHIER'S TOTAL, and as you're packing your items into the bags or boxes, you don't LEAVE ANYTHING BEHIND‼️😎 Also GET A RECEIPT if you can, so you have proof you didn't STEAL SOMETHING. It can be as simple as a handwritten note (take a blank page out of your notebook) and have the person write, "15 items for a total of $50.00." If you are taking a video, film the purchase where you hand the cashier the CASH money, COUNTING IT OUT LOUD AS YOU HAND IT TO THEM. That way, nobody can say you only handed them a $10 bill when you actually handed the person a $20 bill‼️ I AM NOT ACCUSING CASHIERS OF BEING DISHONEST, but when things are busy and hectic and a lot of people are talking at once, confusion and honest mistakes happen‼️ This is a way to guarantee a great transaction for BOTH YOU AND THE SELLER❣️😉 Also, PLEASE don't park on their grass or flowers‼️ Have consideration for the yard and landscape at the Estate Sale AND TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU - INCLUDING CIGARETTE BUTTS - IF YOU ARE A SMOKER‼️ No one wants to clean up someone else's GARBAGE when an Estate Sale is over‼️💯😎 BE KIND and Observe the Golden Rule and treat others the way you want to be treated. 😊 It's just COMMON SENSE, people, LOL.👍🏼😁*

THANKS SO MUCH for reminding everyone to be RESPECTFUL and COURTEOUS at the homes of deceased loved ones' families! I cringe every time, I click on a channel, and the reseller is RECORDING and COMMENTING (usually not complimentary)at an estate sale. I find it just brutal to watch, and usually I don't finish watching no matter how much I love the you tuber! This is someone's home, not a black Friday sale, at Walmart! NOT COOL, Y'ALL! So, I appreciate you so much for your tips, thoughts, compassion, understanding, and encouragement! God bless you, Kayla!🙏 ❤🙏 PS: NONE OF US KNOWS THE DAY OR HOUR OR WHO THE NEXT ESTATE SALE WILL BE.
