As a potter, I must warn you about crazing. It is actually a 'break' in the glaze. If you put wet food, greasy food (i.e., dips) in the serving pieces, it will seep into the piece and stain. You need to be careful with crazed pieces The FABULOUS fabric window coverings are custom so yes, handmade, not "homemade". LOVE today's finds!! edit - I think the flowers on the pretty pedestal jar is a decal or transfer. If you scrub or use a chemical to remove it, it could damage the surface.

About 13 minutes in - Laura, I hope that the idea you released into the Universe, about the 1970's Mikasa Dahlia set, comes to fruition! You deserve to have your name out there as the incredible stylist that you are! Any TV or movie set would be lucky to tap your talents! I look forward to seeing your name in the credits! Then, I can tell everyone that, "Hey, I know that girl!" So, here I am, adding my positive energy to yours as your ideas seek their home amongst the ☆stars☆

Disillusionment warning : I once talked to a woman in a thrift store who was a “picker”/ “prop sourcer” for movies and tv , and I told her I thought that would be such a fun job. She said it is …except when you need to find 70s and all you find is 90s…😮. Maybe the way around that is to buy everything from every era!😁

Hey Laura, I think you should keep the flowers on the apothecary jar. There is something special about keeping an object as is, even if it is not your aesthetic. Preserving an object so it can be enjoyed and admired by future owners who may love the flowers. You can enjoy it as a plain jar, just by turning it around like you did in your video.

I'm from Victoria (Australia). I've just come across your channel and have binge-watched your videos going back several years. I used to go on "op-shop crawls" with my friends (an "op-shop", short for 'Opportunity Shop" is what we call thrift stores here). And the use of the word "crawl" is usually used in the context of "going on a pub crawl" which means spending the day driving from bar to bar with friends (never of any interest to me!) Your videos inspired me to go op-shopping by myself this afternoon. I collect Mid-Century fine china (and crystal) as well as handcrafted pottery. I also keep an eye out for craft resources too. I hit 4 local stores today and 3 of them had a 50% off everything sale, due to the End-of-Financial-Year (Australia's EOFY is on 30th June). I've bought some beautiful china as well as hand-crafted items for so little, it's ridiculous! E.g., I bought a large Alfred Meakin Fine Bone China lidded vegetable serving dish for 7.50 AUD (4.98 USD), a lathed wooden salad bowl with matching salad servers for $3 AUD (1.98 USD) that looks like it's never been used and a handcrafted pottery platter decorated with abstract magnolias (so beautiful it could be hung as wall-art) for $1 AU (66 cents in USD). It seems to have had a paper ID on the back which has been removed, so I'll try to find another online.) I really enjoyed myself; thanks for inspiring me to get back into "op-shopping"! I'm going to hit the Salvo's Op Shop -plus some others - tomorrow!

I think the pitcher with the flowers on it it's rather German; with typical German flowers as edelweiss, gentian, cowslip and lady's slipper orchid. Flowers from the Alps, so it could be South German or possibly Austrian or Swiss. Greetings from Germany! ;)

There must be a film industry association you could contact. Lots of films made in British Columbia. Set designers would love the Dahlia print Mikala. When I was in Montreal there was a vintage store where I bought some jewelry and the woman who owned it was a set designer and grabbed the vintage stuff they get rid of once the film is done. So much potential there!

So many furnominal finds, Laura. I agree that it looked like someone had donated from an estate at the first Goodwill. I love the idea of you being a buyer for TV/movie sets. You would be brilliant at it! I really love this series, Jesse. You are a man of super ideas💡 Thank you, Laura, for taking us along 🩵💙💜
