Flutist vs. Flautist / Template (Temp-lit) vs Template (Temp-late). The former pronunciation is American English and the latter is British English. You're good to go with either one, of course, but considering the KZbin worldwide audience, people who don't know the difference are bound to correct you no matter what you say.

The flute could get you halfway back to making your investment. And if you can't sell the stamps, there's a couple hundred in postage there.

That brand starts around $30 U.S. dollars and more advanced student models ,if silver plated, could bring hundreds. That one was more toward the low end... too bad:(

Alexander, they died in their early seventies??? I am in my early eighties and, so far, OK What are you, around 45 ish? That's not ominous your looking toward the future, I'm not so sure: about mine:) Finally I see you sorting in the new building! I had many first day cover albums and the only somewhat valuable ones were , the ones with expensive stamps .My Mom saved sheets and sheets of stamps for me whole mint sheets and blocks of four and more. Now they would only be good for mailing letters ,but that is almost a lost thing. I hope you get something for them. Cheers, Rik Spector

Alex was born in Dec. 1978, so you're correct that he's 45. It sticks in my mind because I was born one year earlier, in Dec. 1977.

I would strongly suggest you obtain a copy of the Charlton catalogue for stamps before using any of the mint sets for postage. Some of those year sets contain some collectible items. If you're not familiar with Vance Auctions, they may be willing to assist you in disposing of the stamps. But age of a stamp does not equate the collector value. There are stamps from the mid 1800s which do not have much collector value, and, there are modern issues which are quite valuable.

No WONDER I can't find jack at yard sales lately; Alex snagged it all! 09:05 I have that plastic stamp box. A Canadian friend gave one to my dad when it was new. Probably worth nothing, but it's cool to see one.

Flutist player here. I’ve bought and looked at many over the years and it seems like that one is ready to play but it is hard to tell over video but the main thing to look at is if the keys move as they should and if the pads under the keys still look good. If it needs work and isn’t ready to use then it probably only would go for 50-75 but from what I see I would guess you realistically could get 100-200. Jupiter brand isn’t special and it is a basic model with no fancy upgrades that could have got you more. Hope this helps

Ah the Spartus Press Flash! I had a few - never worth much and not very good cameras. They used 'press flash' bulbs the same size as a press camera (i.e. huge; about the same size as a standard light bulb).

2:40 That weird metal strap style knob base is pretty standard for that period. Have one with a slag glass knob on it, though sadly both of my cars' steering wheels are a bit too chunky for that base. They're also called spinner knobs, steering wheel spinners or any number of other things from a list a mile long. Anything counterculture has touched gets a list of names longer than the day as it's a way of expressing one's self uniquely.

Hello Alex, great hall, that steering wheel is the same style as my 1952 Land Rover Series 1, would be worth doing a little research as it appears to be in very good original condition, it would sell on eBay Australia easily in the $300-$500 Aust range, would be similar in Canada I believe, good luck and thanks for the content that you put out, I have been a fan of your adventures for years

This video has reminded me of visiting Canada in 1997 with a group of Guides from the UK. We were travelling around Ontario on a yellow school bus and discovered that the Post Offices had Winnie the Pooh stamps and items such as sweatshirts and pin badges with the stamps on them. We accidentally turned into local celebrities as we drove to about 5 small towns to buy enough pins for the whole group.

Would love to see you do some knolling when you go through your finds. Line everything up neatly on a table or two when you take it out of the boxes and bins and then go through it all at the end so we can see it all better. Would ease a lot of our OCD tension from when you partially open things and stuff them back and don’t show everything.

Hate those policical commercials🤥
@GuyWithTheDogs3 ай бұрын
I don't have to watch commercials because I have KZbin premium, but your beef isn't with the creators of the videos you watch. KZbin knows what people are doing on the Internet, and the commercials are tailored to the interests of the people watching the video. If you are reading about politics or watching political videos on the Internet, then you will likely get political commercials. KZbin Premium is a good investment. You don't get any commercials, and the KZbin creators get paid.
