Thinking of the future in terms of movable / non-movables is a really great anchor. Movable: items that inspire without being a lifegoal, that change according to the mood Non-movable: items that contribute to the output, or the output itself.

I often see people in the type community get confused over this “get things done attitude”. Because some people attribute it to Se and some attribute it to Te. Obviously there’s a degree of truth to both. But what can be said about this? Why do they look so similar
@PowerRedBullTypology
@PowerRedBullTypology 4 ай бұрын
Both Te and Se are out of all the functions the most outward focussed, which means they focus on _very clear surface_ level things that usually can be seen by anyone. This is becasue they both are external, but also because out of all the externally orientated functions the _require the least interpretation because they focus on objective, yet surface level things_ . With surface level I do not mean they are superficial in a negative sense, but in a sense they are because everyone can easily see or measure them. They are in that sense clearly different from the other 2 extraverted fucntions Ne and Fe, because both Ne and Fe are on a scale already a bit deeper and thus more open for interpretation and a bit more "subjective". An Ne idea or Fe emotion can not _as_ easily be put into objective words or measurements. To make a comparison even better to understand is to look at the opposite functions, that require the _most subjective interpretation_ and are _not easily visible for _ sometimes including themsleves, which are Fi and Ni. Where they are both internal and like Ti and Si, both Ti and Si focus on things that are slightly more obejctive. Ti primarily deals with logic and logic is predictabele and follows rules everyone can understand. Similarly Si is internal and thus deeper and more hidden, but it still deals with the sensory world which is more surface level than intuition. Both Si and Ti types do not sturggle with expressing themsleves for this very reason, whereas both Fi and Ni types can have difficulty to out their inner judgements or perceptions into words Both Ti and Si are not vague or abstract or unclear like Ni or Fi can be. Ti and Si ussually are not complicated to share with others and types with them (higher in their stack) typically do not struggle with expressing these things, because they are _simply much easier to describe_ . So to come back to the main question why it seems that Se and Te are associated with getting most things done is simply the consequence of them being such external functions, which means that everyoen can see what they are doing. The progress they are focussed on and interested in is usually also very visible and very external. For them possibly sorting things out in your brain is not nessisarily seen as an activity becasue it's simply not very external. You do not literally see any progress doing that. If someone is moving blocks in front of you, it's very clear they are actively doing something .When people focus on something that is already less obvious, like observing if the moved blocks are in the right postion, it's already less clear they "doing something".When someone is daydreaming about a new design for blocks, it's even more invisible for anyone to see. So other functions (and consequently types) are in essence just as active and goal orientated as Se and Te, but the things they are focussed on are simply less externally visible and often involve less visible movement. The movement is more often mental, emotional or ideational rather than super concrete and real time like Te and Se.

They're both functions used in getting things done, that's why. What I find helpful is to look at the person doing the things. From personal experience, the Se people I've met remain engaged with the surrounding environment. Often times the Te people either aren't, or they can't be & they get frustrated when things break their train of thought. My Se manager will be working on fixing something in the computer while listening to my conversation with a customer, even though I'm 20 feet away. My Te manager will get interrupted while working on something & he has to quickly scan the area & ask questions to get "caught up" to what's happening. My Se manager also seems to like to walk around for the pleasure of it. My Te manager goes from point A to point B with a sense of purpose. Then he realizes he lost something & spends the next 15 minutes going from points M-Z trying to find it. The Se guy never loses stuff like that. He finds other peoples stuff they didn't even know they lost yet (like mine).

Really good stuff although I think (at least based on the videos you have up) that you may be a little biased with regards to #1 because you’re mostly looking at the ones who _made it_ already. Yes, a #1 who made it to the top, whether it’s Deion Sanders or Arnold Schwarzenegger or whoever is going to be super confident and badass-looking. But not all #1s make it to the top. I’m a #1 and in my experience a lot of #1s are really insecure and fearful, myself included. We’re not all those hardworking motivational cool guys, you’re only looking at the ones who _made it_ for the most part. That’s why we all _want_ to be, but many (probably most) aren’t there. A #1 who isn’t at the top often feels awful about themself, can be really unmotivated and lethargic because they’re living with this inflated balloon head that’s out of step with their lived reality.

Thanks for the reply, Ethan. Just keep at at...you are still in the process. Most guys are in their 30's and 40's when they start making strides. Don't compare yourself to the mega successful. just learn and be a smarter ,stronger you by keeping after your goal. Even in athletics most start peaking in their 30's. Don't be discouraged, if you have why, you will find the how.

@@GabeSeamless oh I know I’m not discouraged the comment wasn’t about me, I was just pointing out that it seems like they typically only take examples of Type 1s who “made it” on this channel. The idea of Type 1s all being extremely hardworking top dog types that they seem to lean on in this channel seems to come from that kind of survivorship bias. I find it especially interesting considering I think they typed Shan as a #1 and she doesn’t really exhibit that extreme of a personality.

I like how sensors and intuitives look at things differently, the sensors will be like yeah it's similar but here it's different, the "difference" is the punch line, whereas for intuitives being "same" is the punch line. PS: Completely subjective but I concluded because I saw the same pattern with Viktor and James Charles and reading this comment it struck me

@@dariaantonov7257 I'd say you're describing more so Oe vs Oi. Oe is looking for how things are different, Oi for how they're the same, regardless or S vs N

That makes sense, however since intuition is 'this reminds me of', don't you think Ni would do the 'it's the same' more than the Si? For context I have Ni and my mom has Si so I do it wayyy more than her. I think it would be in this order Se

So Ultimately the number ones success is dependent on not caring about other people, being “friends last”, in order to be #1; just get rid of them, block them, push them out, I don’t care about you, I don’t need you to win, I’ll do it my way? It’s very harsh? It sounds somewhat similar to MM masculine harshness.
