I am so confused. At 6:05, Doctor Maki said, "we don't ever put Estradiol on the vaginal tissue." I am prescribed with Estradiol cream to use vaginally and I believe many many other women out there use Estradiol cream for vagina. I've listened to many other doctors podcast who prescribed Estradiol cream for their patients to use vaginally. Here, he is the only doctor said don't ever use on vaginal tissue because it causes growth of tissues. Why is it contradicting between doctors? I am so confused.

You are correct. Many doctors do prescribe estradiol for vaginal use. We choose not to use estradiol vaginally and only use Estriol. Using estradiol can increase the chance of bleeding, so we just do use it. Thanks for your comment. We are going to do an episode about your comment as this comes up quite often.

You can use estradiol cream in certain formulations on the face. It doesn't go systemically as has been shown in the scientific studies involving estradiol cream that has been formulated for vagina. It will not get into the system to increase uterine cancer. I have used both on my face (estradiol and estriol) and noticed no difference at all with estriol. Everyone is different. I also take estradiol in tablet form (I understand patches are even better, but they work for me). I have never got melasma from either type. I have never used Biest. I do use progesterone and testosterone too. Please note that most doctors are not educated on this subject, sadly.

I agree, you can use estradiol on your face with no issues. We choose not to use estradiol vaginally with our patients.

Hello. My doctor prescribed estradiol vaginal cream 0.01%. She wants me to use 1 gram 3x a week. Each gram contain 0.1 mg estradiol. Will this cause uterine cancer? Can I also use this on my face? Should I ask her to prescribe estriol to use vaginally instead of estradiol? Thank you.

a 1 mg cream 3 times per week vaginally is probably fine and will not cause any issues

What if you no longer have uterus and ovaries?
@jennycunningham865815 күн бұрын
Are you on HRT? You don’t need progesterone if you have no uterus. However, you can still have testosterone should you wish. Best bet is to speak to your doctor and ask for a referral to a menopause specialist. They may not have an opinion about using oestrogen on the face but if they are ok with the concept then they may want to monitor your hormone levels.

Would vaginal estriol cause melasma on the face?
@ProgressYourHealthPodcast6 ай бұрын
Thanks for reaching out. No, applying Estriol vaginally will not cause Melasma on the face.
@progressyourhealth2287 күн бұрын
Melasma is usually related to pregnancy because estradiol levels are very high. Estriol on the face at 1 to 2 mg dose is not nearly enough to cause melasma

I specifically heard you Estradiol should not be used vaginally yet this brand Estrace is being used by many people to be administered into the vagina. I guess there was a tik tok trend or something where people were saying to get that estradiol and put it on your face which is what got me on to this subject in the first place. I had been considering putting ESTRIOL on my face but then when I heard about Estrace on their face I thought let me see about this. I got from an online Rx a tube of Estrace estradiol and I'm afraid to use it. You had said if someone has a uterus and they're putting it on their vaginal tissues for atrophy that that could cause a problem so I wonder why people are even prescribing that for that bodily region then.? I'm 55 and I've skipped a couple periods, 2 last year and 2 this year, and I'm starting to see loss of structural Integrity on my face. I have over the counter estriol but then I started to wonder if I need to mix it with progesterone for cancer protectiom. Now that I'm hearing you two discuss systemic versus locally I think I'm okay with just estriol alone. I did notice that I'm getting some spotting like I'm going to break through bleed when I mix the progesterone and the estriol together for my face. I don't have history of uterine cancer or anything like that, no breast cancer nothing, everybody lives to be 92 or 93 and no real issues in my family However the fact that I'm still cycling has my primary and my OBGYN wanting to do an endometrial biopsy. OBGYN wanted to do it two years ago or so and I said no I'll just do the ultrasound and there was no thickening of my uterine wall but found 2 tiny fibroids they said were normal. I'm trying to avoid the biopsy because I heard it hurts like hell. All of this, last question would be, should I not mess with anything until my period stops for a full year? Thank you in advance for your time, Doctors!!😢 PS I just wanted to add I don't have hot flashes but the one MAJOR menopausal ISSUE is my hair falling out like TERRIBLY and I've had lab work done so I know I have a higher amount of testosterone. I'm using DHT blockers to try to stop that but the hair loss is my BIGGEST CONCERN of my hormones being out of balance if I go to see a menopause specialist is there a way to balance my hormones in whatever way the pellet or whatever they use nowadays to help my hair to stop falling?. :(
