To prevent the NPCs leaving the door open when they get out of the taxi (which is very uncomfortable), you can make them get on the front passenger so they will always close it.

could add a multiplayer functionality to where npc make ride requests and real players as well

How configurable is this in terms of splitting the cash from rides between the fund and drivers?
