i was at the ny comic con this past saturday and i sat in a panel about the importance of music scores in film,i forget who the 3 composers were that talking 2 us but he mentioned e.t and the music like from the scene,i smiled when i thought of this scene

@dcrno1 i agree.. back in a time when movies didnt suck... the 80s were the best time for all media (music and movies... nowadays all movies are are Rip offs , Re Makes, or Sequals... This is by far the most Iconic/epic scene in movie history... I saw this for the first time when I was 3 and it still gives me goosebumps... Im 20 now...lol

@Preator6 It does make sense, in fact. I have read this piece in the E.T book (released in 1982 along with the first release of the movie) and it says that though it was a fun ride for Elliot and Lance (his nerd friend that never got into the movie version), both kids were extremely frightened. Think. Different people do different things in different situations. It probably made him feel better to keep on moving the pedals.

The title is wrong its the 2002 bike scene becuase E.T. does not smile in the 1982 one and also when they go by the moon Elliott's jacket is flowing in the 2002 one it's not in the 1982 one so the title should be called E.T.-Bike scene (2002)

Tonight, I will watch John Williams: Maesto of the Movies at the Hollywood Bowl. He'll conduct an extended 14-minute segment from E.T., which I'm hoping comes from this scene. Tonight is a blue moon and would make for a perfect backdrop for the music and symbology of this scene :)
